Amazon Interview Experience For SDE Intern 2023

I recently had the opportunity to interview for the SDE Intern role at Amazon, and the process consisted of two main rounds – an Online Assessment Round and a Technical Interview.

Online Assessment Round:

Duration: 70 minutes

• Coding (60 minutes):

The coding section comprised challenging problems to be solved within a time limit. Make sure to manage your time effectively.

• Workstyles Assessment (10 minutes):

This part likely focused on evaluating your work style and approach to problem-solving.

Out of all the participants, 69 students qualified for the Technical Interview, and I was one of them.

Technical Interview:

Duration: 60 minutes

• Started with an introduction and casual discussion about the interview process.
• Focused purely on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) based questions.

Of the 69 students who reached this stage, only 11 were selected.

Despite not making it to the final selection, valuable lessons were learned:

• Having self-control under pressure is crucial. Don’t let stress hinder your performance.
• Panic can lead to mistakes. Stay focused and approach each problem systematically.
• The interviewers were approachable and friendly. Remember that they are here to hire you, not intimidate you.
• Engage in a dialogue about your thought process. Communication is key, and it helps the interviewer understand your approach.
• Don’t hesitate to seek clarification or guidance if needed. Interviewers are willing to assist.

While I may not have secured the position, the experience at Amazon provided valuable insights into the technical expectations and the importance of a composed and collaborative approach during interviews.
