Amadeus Labs Experience for Software Engineer 2023

Introduction:
The company started hiring from our college for the first time from our batch, On the first day at 9.30 am the company hosted a virtual meeting to share their company history, legacy, vision, and projects that the company working on, and the roles offered for us. A total of 1648 students applied and attended the assessment. Round-1 and Round-2 are done on the same day.

Round:1 Online Assessment:

The company conducted a proctored online assessment on the hacker Earth platform at 11 am – 12 pm (60min). The assessment comprises of 28 MCQs on CS fundamentals and 2 coding questions (1 Tree traversing and 1 graph with dynamic programming ). The difficulty of the Tree traversing question is easy-medium and graph with dynamic programming is hard. The result was declared at 2 pm and 14 candidates qualified for the next round and I was one of them.

Round: 2 SHL Test:

This is an Aptitude and soft skills assessment conducted on SHL platform for 90min(4 pm-5.30 pm). This test included verbal, non-verbal, numerical, logical, decision-making, situational, memory, and communicational-based MCQs (~80). The difficulty is easy but had very less time to solve, and requires speed and accuracy to qualify for the round. The results were declared at 7 pm and only 8 candidates qualified for the next round and I was one of them.

Round – 3 Interview ( Technical and Managerial):

The interview was scheduled for 2 days later (had lab examinations on those 2 days) on an online code-sharing platform for 1 hour. The round started with the technical recruiter introduction followed by my self-introduction. The discussion made way with questions about CS fundamentals from Python, OOPS, Computer Networking, DBMS, System Design, and Operating Systems. The TR asked to code all 4 main pillars of the OOPS(Inheritance, polymorphism, Abstraction, and encapsulation) in Python followed by questions in Linked Lists, the difference between array and list, the difference between tree and graph, and types of graphs and trees.
Meanwhile, the Hiring manager joined and asked basic questions like why Amadeus Labs, what inspired you to join, hobbies, family, goals, ambitions, and a lot more general stuff.

The Technical recruiter and hiring manager were pretty supportive and gave good feedback. Later, within a day or two the results were out and 3 students got selected (2 Intern-cum-FTE, 1 Intern).

TIP :

Just grind the fundamentals hard, have good knowledge of DSA, and do not stop your conversation/explanations in the interview while writing the code, have speed and accuracy in the SHL test and last but not least do not try to malpractice.
