Overview

VIPS – Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies which was established in 2000 is one of the known reputed institutes located in Delhi and it is under Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. It offers different courses for degrees in Full Time Mode. The courses provided here are aimed to provide the candidates with the necessary skills in their field of interest. The college has been accredited with Grade A++ by NAAC. Students can go after multiple courses like B.A. LL.B., BBA LL.B., BBA, B.J.M.C., B.Com, BCA, MCA, B.E. / B.Tech with the stream of Law, Banking, Mass Communication & Media, Accounting & Commerce, IT & Software, Business & Management Studies and Engineering.

For the students, the college has facilities and infrastructure like A/C Classrooms, Auditorium, Labs, Library, Sports Ground, Wi-Fi Campus, etc.

Admission

There are two ways to get into this college, first is by Management Quota, and second is through JEE Mains/IPU CET Exam. To get admission to the college through Management Quota, which is something around 15%, one has to visit the college office on campus. And to get admission through JEE Mains/IPU CET, students need to fulfil the eligibility criteria and participate in counselling where admissions are solely done on the basis of their merit.

Counselling Registration

Applicants need to register for IPU Counselling before its deadline ends. You can fill out the application form for IPU counselling online on its website by registering yourself and uploading the required documents. Don’t miss the deadline for IPU form filling (the last date of form filling would be available on their website).

Counselling Procedure

After the deadline for form filling ends and after you have filled the choices, soon IPU starts declaring the results starting from round 1 and it goes on till round 4. Then there is one sliding round in which any candidate can take part to upgrade their seat if they didn’t like the seat that they got in the previous rounds otherwise you can freeze your seat. And at the last, there is a spot round in which only those candidates are allowed to take part who have not got any seats in the previous rounds. Once you get your particular choice, you will receive the email of seat allotment and also the last date to fill out the first semester fees and confirm your admission.

• JEE Mains/IPU CET scorecard

Why Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies?

• Placements: We have pretty decent placement opportunities here. This year’s highest placement was 10 LPA (BCA) with an average CTC of 5-6 LPA. Also, there are good companies coming for other courses as well and providing packages ranging between 5-7 LPA.
• Culture: VIPS has a lot of branches and streams, including extracurriculars with a lot of cultural events, societies, and clubs.
• Academics: Academics here work on a credit system, so if a candidate wants their degree, they need to fulfil the minimum credits. You get credits based on the things you do here:- like being active in college societies, taking part in hackathons, extracurriculars, internships, projects, etc.

Personal Experience

Teachers here are good and they actually do know how to teach and what language to use. The campus here is not that big, but mostly active in the late evenings due to sunlight. The canteen has great food and it is a great spot to spend time with your friends.
