Visa visited my campus in the month of August. They were looking for Software Developer Interns and set the eligibility criteria as having a CGPA of 7.0 or higher, with no active backlogs.
The selection process comprised two rounds: an

  • Online Assessment (OA
  • Technical Interview+HR round

    Round-1: Online Assessment

During the initial Online Assessment round, candidates encountered two problems centered around Data Structures and Algorithms. These problems were set at a medium level of complexity. In my case, the first problem delved into the sliding window and two-pointers concepts, while the second one revolved around Dynamic Programming. The second problem was an advanced iteration of the Longest Common Substring challenge.

I successfully managed to solve both problems within a mere 20-minute timeframe, ensuring that all the test cases were met. As a result of this performance, I was among the two candidates shortlisted for the subsequent interview rounds.

Round-2: Technical + Hr Interview (60 mins)

The second phase of the selection process involved a Technical Interview. Initially, I was asked to provide a brief self-introduction, after which the interviewer presented some warmup questions relating to Mathematics concepts within Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).

Drawing inspiration from my performance in the Online Assessment, the interviewer expressed her interest in my answers and proceeded to inquire about my favorite algorithms. I was then given a Greedy algorithm-based problem to solve. Impressively, I devised a solution in a mere 5 minutes. Subsequently, the interview shifted focus to SQL Queries.

I tackled approximately 4 to 5 SQL Queries that encompassed various aspects such as Joins and nested queries. Simultaneously, the interviewer posed technical inquiries spanning OOPS, DBMS, JavaScript, Node.js, and Operating Systems. I responded to all these questions with confidence. Moreover, throughout the interview, there were intermittent behavioral questions wherein I was presented with scenarios to address.

Upon concluding the interview, I felt a strong sense of assurance regarding my selection. The following day, the results were announced, and I was elated to discover that both the other candidate and I had secured positions for the internship.
