I belong to a Tier-1 college, non-circuital branch, with a CGPA of 7+. Tiger Analytics visited our campus this December for the role of a Data Analyst.

The entire process consisted of a total of 4 rounds, 1 OA + 3 interviews (2 Technical + 1 HR) in offline mode.

ROUND 0 (ONLINE ASSESSMENT)

This was hosted on a proctored platform known as Imocha. It was ~90 minutes and consisted of 3 sections:

  • Section 1 – Basic maths and aptitude (~20 questions, ~40 min)
  • Section 2 – Basic CS fundamentals (~10 questions, ~10 min)
  • Section 3 – 2 Coding questions (1st one was easy difficulty ~10 min, 2nd one was medium difficulty ~20 min)

220 students appeared for this and ~50 were shortlisted for further rounds.

ROUND 1 (TECHNICAL INTERVIEW)

This interview was conducted in offline mode and started at around 8 PM, the panel consisted of 1 male interviewer from Tiger Analytics.

As I entered the room, the interviewer greeted me and asked me to introduce myself, which was very much expected. The interviewer then asked me which language I was comfortable in coding to which I replied Python 3.0.

He then proceeded to ask me a few questions about my project.

The interviewer was satisfied with my answers and asked me if I had any questions, to which I replied with a set of prepared questions.

Overall the interviewer was very helpful and thinking out loud definitely helped.

17 students were selected for round 2.

ROUND 2 (TECHNICAL INTERVIEW)

The panel consisted of 1 male interviewer from Tiger Analytics.

He started the conversation by greeting me and directly asking me a coding question of easy difficulty, please find it linked below.

Then we moved on to what I thought was the most challenging part of the interview, Probability and Statistics.

  • Question 1 – https://math.stackexchange.com/questions/629404/probability-the-three-points-on-a-circle-will-be-on-the-same-semi-circle
  • Question 2 – https://www.vedantu.com/question-answer/find-the-coefficient-of-x9-in-1+x1+x21+x31+x100-class-11-maths-cbse-5f635c64eee2a36606dd804b
  • Question 3 – https://brainstellar.com/puzzles/medium/116 (unexpected and most time-consuming)
  • Question 4 – https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/puzzle-measure-4-litre-with-3-and-5-litre-bottle/

He then asked me a few questions about my projects.

I was able to answer all of them with a slight hiccup in question 3. Overall the interviewer seemed happy with my answers and thinking process.

9 students made it to the final round.

ROUND 3 (HR INTERVIEW)

The panel consisted of 1 female employee from Tiger Analytics. It started with a greeting from her side and a basic rundown of my resume. She then proceeded to ask me a few questions about my PORs, why the field of data analysis, how to approach data in your core discipline and any issues with the location. It went smoothly and I was informed of my result later on.

A total of 5 students were selected.

Overall the interview tested your coding skills (including SQL) and tested your proficiency in probability and statistics. The process went like clockwork and was very well organised by our PlaceCom and Tiger Analytics.
