I had the opportunity to participate in the Tech Mahindra campus placement process, which consisted of several rounds aimed at evaluating candidates for the available positions. These rounds focused on various aspects, including technical expertise, interpersonal skills, aptitude, and professional attitude. Let’s delve into each round in more detail:

Interview Rounds

Round 1: Written Test

The first round of the Tech Mahindra recruitment process is a written test that assesses candidates’ technical knowledge and aptitude. This round is divided into three sections, namely essay writing in English, technical tests, and aptitude tests. It is an elimination round, and only a predetermined number of candidates progress to the next round.

Round 2: Psychometric Test

Candidates who successfully pass the first round proceed to the psychometric test. This test evaluates the candidates’ personality traits and work behavior. It is a non-elimination round where candidates complete a written examination, usually online, consisting of approximately 80 questions to be answered within 20 to 30 minutes.

Round 3: Technical Written Test

The third round is another written test that assesses candidates’ aptitude and technical abilities. It covers various topics, including numerical and analytical ability, pseudo code, software testing methodologies, Linux, data structures and algorithms, fluid intelligence, software testing concepts, hands-on programming, and database query languages such as SQL. Round 3 is also an elimination round.

Round 4: Technical Interview

In this round, candidates undergo a technical interview where they are expected to demonstrate their knowledge in their respective fields of study. Computer science applicants are evaluated on their understanding of algorithms, operating systems, database management systems, data structures, object-oriented programming, networking concepts, and proficiency in their preferred programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or C++). Candidates from other fields may also be tested accordingly. The interview may include questions about the candidate’s resume and might involve puzzles as well.

Round 5: HR Round

The final round is the HR interview, where candidates are assessed for their cultural fit within the organization. Behavioral questions are asked to gauge their compatibility with the company’s values and work environment. Although considered relatively straightforward by some, it is important to approach this round with confidence and maintain a positive demeanor. This round marks the end of the recruitment process.

Throughout the process, candidates are advised to be adaptable and prepared to discuss various aspects. The HR round may include questions about the candidate’s background, motivations for working in the IT field, willingness to relocate, and salary expectations. It is important to remain professional and engage with the interviewers.

It is worth noting that the Tech Mahindra campus placement process may evolve over time, so it is recommended to refer to the official Tech Mahindra recruitment resources for the most up-to-date information on their specific selection process.
