I recently had the opportunity to participate in Tata Elxsi’s on-campus drive, and I must say it was quite an insightful experience. The recruitment process consisted of three rounds, each designed to evaluate different aspects of a candidate’s skill set.

Pre-placement Talk:
Before diving into the interview rounds, we were treated to an informative and engaging pre-placement talk by the representatives of Tata Elxsi. This session provided valuable insights into the company, its culture, and its vision. The company’s core values, achievements, and growth trajectory were discussed in detail, giving candidates a comprehensive understanding of what it means to be a part of Tata Elxsi.

Round 1: Aptitude, Technical Questions, and Coding
The first round was a comprehensive test that encompassed aptitude, technical knowledge, and coding skills. Within the aptitude section, there were distinct subsections for quantitative, verbal, and logical reasoning, designed to evaluate a wide range of cognitive abilities. The technical questions in this round spanned various domains, including SQL, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and Cloud Computing, challenging candidates’ expertise in these critical areas. Additionally, there were three coding questions, and successfully completing two of them was necessary to advance to the next round, adding a competitive edge to the process.

Sections –

  • Aptitude – Quantitative, Verbal, Logical
  • Technical Questions
  • Coding Round

Round 2: Technical Assessments
The second round was a one-on-one technical assessment with a panelist. This round focused on evaluating a candidate’s technical knowledge and skills in depth. I was asked questions related to SQL joins, writing basic SQL queries, coding exercises in my preferred programming language, and discussions about my past projects. This round allowed the interviewers to delve into my technical proficiency and problem-solving abilities. It was challenging but provided an excellent platform to showcase my technical prowess.

Round 3: HR Round
The final round was a HR interview, which lasted approximately 20 minutes. During this round, general HR questions were posed, covering topics such as my career goals, previous experiences, and expectations from Tata Elxsi. Communication, confidence, and clarity in speech were closely observed in this round, as they are essential attributes for any prospective employee.

In conclusion, Tata Elxsi’s on-campus drive is a well-structured recruitment process that assesses candidates thoroughly in both technical and soft skill aspects.
