In this article, I am going to share my experience of giving the OJEE exam. Through this article, I would like to help the aspirants to prepare for OJEE as there is not much information present on the internet, about this exam.

About the exam:

Odisha Joint Entrance Examination abbreviated as OJEE, is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Government of Odisha, India. It is conducted annually and the candidates who qualify for the exam can secure their seats in various government and private institutions in Odisha. This exam is conducted for various UG courses such as B.Tech, B.Tech(LE), B.Pharma, B.CAT and PG courses like MBA, MCA, M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan, M.Pharm, Integrated MBA and M.Sc. The pattern and syllabus for each exam is different.

A little back story:

After failing in JEE Mains 2020. I took a year drop and started preparing for JEE Mains -2021. Now, like most of aspirants, I also dreamed of getting into premier institutions in India. But to be on the safer side, I filled up forms for various competitive examinations, and OJEE was one of them. To be honest, I only prepared for JEE Mains, since the level of all other competitive examinations is far less than that of JEE.

Pre-Exam Experience:

My OJEE exam was scheduled on 16 September 2021. I got the 2nd shift which was from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. My exam centre was located at Rourkela which was a 2-hour train journey from my home. So, I went to the exam centre along with my mother and uncle. My exam centre was at a college named Padmanava College of Engineering, which was quite far from the main city. After I reached the exam centre, I went inside the exam hall after proper frisking.

Exam Experience:

The exam consisted of 75 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Each section consisted of 25 questions. I started the exam with the Physics section, as it was my strongest subject. I solved 23 questions out of 25. Then, I moved towards the chemistry section. The questions of chemistry were evenly distributed and covered almost all the topics. Then, at last, I moved towards the Maths section. Since I was not very good at Maths, I attempted it at last, but to my surprise, I was able to solve 20 out of 25 questions in this section. Then after attempting all the questions, I did a quick revision and clicked on the final submit button(although it was not necessary).

And the Results:

The exam results came out on 20th September 2021. I got a GEN Rank-156 and ZZ (Outside State)Rank-17. I was happy with my results, as my JEE preparation helped me to ace this examination. Although, the OJEE exam result had no effect on my college admissions, as I took admission based on JEE(Mains) Rank I would definitely say that preparing and appearing for competitive exams helps to handle mental pressure.

Key Takeaways:

Just prepare whole heartedly for JEE(Mains) and this exam or any other state-level examination will be a cakewalk for you.

And the final tip, do all the previous year’s questions of any competitive examination that you are appearing in. Sometimes, they are your life savers and also they help you in intelligent guessing.

TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE READING THIS. YES, YOU CAN ACE IT!!
