Hello, Everyone I have attempted the Jee exam thrice, I have qualified it twice but was not able to secure a good rank Jee Main (90.85) percentile and 4200ew rank in advance. So as a low ranker, I may advise about it and what mistake I have made in it.

Most of the time I have wasted in searching for syllabus, average score, format, and what to follow and what not to follow.

JEE (joint entrance exam) is one of the toughest exams in the world. More than 10 lakh students compete with each other for seats in IIT, NITS, and other prestigious engineering colleges in India.

FORMAT:-

It is conducted in two phases:-

JEE MAINS:-

  • JEE mains is conducted twice a year. The best of the two is considered as the scorecard of the candidate. It is the choice of candidates whether to attempt both or anyone.
  • After this students are eligible to get seats in Engineering college except IITs.
  • Mostly it is conducted in the months of January and April.
  • Only 2.5 lakh students qualify for this exam and are eligible for jee advance.

JEE ADVANCED:-

  • It is conducted in May last week or April first week.
  • Approx 40k students qualify for this exam. Out of which 6-7k students get a seat in IITs.
  • After this another paper is conducted for students who want to go for an architecture degree.

Paper Format:-

Jee mains:-

  • It consists of 300 mark
  • It consists questions from physics, Chemistry and maths. Out of which 20(MCQ) and 10(Numerical answer type.Out of which candidates have to attempt 75 questions 25(20MCQ, 5NAT) each subjects.
  • Each correct question carries 4marks and wrong question carries -1.

JEE Advanced:-

  • It is divide into 2 papers. One in morning Shift and Other in evening shift. Each shift is of 3 hours.
  • The paper format is unpredictable.
  • It consists of NAT, MCQ, MSQ, MATCHING, NUMERICAL WITH DECIMAL and many other.
  • Some times it is of 360,380 and etc. Total marks are also not fixed. ->In this each candidate have to pass cutoff for each subject also.

Result with marks range:-

Jee mains:-

For general:-

  • To pass :- 70- 90 marks .
  • To get seat in any nit :- above 110.
  • To get seat in top nit:- above 150.
  • To het cse in top nit :- above 200.

For OBC:-

  • It decreases 10-15 marks.

For Sc/St:-

  • It decreases 30-35 marks.

Jee advance:-

The general category:-

  • To qualify 17.5%.
  • To get seat 20-25 %.
  • To get top iit 30-35 % marks.
  • To get cse in top iit 55-60 %marks.

Syllabus:-

It consists of physics , chemistry and maths. Of class 11 and 12.

In mains:-
Physics and chemistry are almost formula based with some good concept.
The level of maths is some what tougher.

In advance:-
It is total based on good conceptual knowledge. Thers no benefits of formulas

Preparation strategy:-

  • Be consistent.
  • No need to study full syllabus . What you study- study it with complete knowledge.
  • Practice more problems and theory.
  • Do regular revision.
  • Previous year question are your teachers.
  • Follow books like cengage.
  • Be confident.

Mistake done by me You should avoid:-

  • Be loyal with study.
  • Do daily task.
  • Complete your daily task and DPP.
  • Do not miss lectures.
  • Particular teacher and follow him . Do not change teacher have trust on them.
  • Do not watch lectures only study books as well as practice questions
  • Make short notes.
  • Revise on time.
  • Do not watch phone while studying.

From my mistake learn what not to do and what to do.

As a failure can teach which steps not to follow and topper can teach what steps to follow.

At last I want to say that it is you who makes the subject tough or easy. So be loyal and consistent with your studies. You can easily qualify this exam.

Thank you…
