WBJEE Exam Experience

Hello, I’m a student at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology studying towards my B. Tech. in computer science engineering. I’m going to discuss one of my struggles with passing the 2021 West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). I’ll discuss my preparation for and participation in this tough test in this article.

Introduction:

Every year, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board conducts the WBJEE, a state-level entrance test, to select candidates for admission to various engineering and pharmacy programs in West Bengal. Every year, over 2 million students take the exam. There are only two papers for those pursuing careers in engineering and pharmacy. In 2020, after finishing my 12th grade at XYZ Public School, I decided to take the exam.

Strategies for preparation: Coaching (Online or Offline):

I began studying for the exam in November 2020 through online coaching sessions, practice exams, books, and other study tools. Along with some of my friends who were also studying for the test, I also joined a study group. We used to talk about our doubts, provide advice, and encourage one another. It is pretty challenging to receive offline instruction during the pandemic.

Instead of memorizing facts or formulae, the major goal of my preparation plan was to comprehend the ideas and basics of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. I also practiced answering past years’ questions and reading sample papers to become familiar with the test format, level of difficulty, and time management. On July 17, 2021, the WBJEE Paper was administered online and lasted 4 hours???? hours for Paper 1 (Mathematics) and 2 hours for Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). At Howrah’s ABC College, I took the exam. I approached the problems in the sequence of chemistry, physics, and math since I found arithmetic to be the simplest and chemistry to be the most challenging before the exam. I started by answering the questions I knew the answers to before moving on to the ones I had doubts about. Additionally, I kept track of the time and avoided making careless errors. I gave it my all and hoped for the best.

Finally, the results:

The official results were released after a few months, and I received an excellent score. Out of more than 30,000 students, my ranking was good. I was thrilled and thankful for my success. This was my WB JEE journey in 2021, and as a result, I was admitted to GNIT’s CSE program.
