I am currently in my 2nd Year, pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Kolkata. Although there are still 2 years left for me to share some more experiences, the 2 years spent with me still have a lot to tell.

About the Campus:

The Campus is not that big, it consists of mainly 4 Buildings: Annex Building, Office Building, Main Building, and Hi-Tech Building. Each Floor is divided into different Departments of Various Branches like CSE, IT, ECE, EE, ME, BME, AEIE, CSBS, etc, the CSE and ECE being the largest of all departments. The College has a small Garden in the Centre, with a big NSEC Logo. It also has a Badminton Court, Boys’ Common Room, Facilities to Play Indoor Games like Chess, Table Tennis, Carrom, etc, and a large Field to play Cricket and Football. Our college also has a small Gymnasium, which was just opened recently. Most of the Classrooms are Air-Conditioned, with Projectors and Smart Boards for better learning, Auditorium Halls for Seminars, a Central Library, a placement cell, along with College Canteen.

First-Year Experience:

I was very excited to experience my College Life. It was a huge transition for me from my school days back in my homeplace, to college in a different city far from my home. I was also nervous at the same time, hoping I would be able to make good friends or not. On the 1st Week of our College, we had our Orientation Session, followed by Induction Classes, where we were introduced to various clubs and communities of our college. We also had a massive freshers party, which was a great opportunity to make new friends and develop connections with seniors. The First Year was very basic, with the same subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and some extra subjects.

Second-Year Experience:

From the 2nd Year, the main core subjects of our domain started to be taught to us. The subjects were very interesting to study, and I started developing a huge interest in attending all the classes in college, to know more about the concepts, and attend the lab classes regularly for more in-depth understanding. I also participated in Quiz Competitions, Photography Sessions, and Hackathons like the NASA International Space Apps Challenge, which made me more and more experienced and made me developed my communication and technical skills.
