Infrastructure: The characteristic which the “Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata” is pretty much renowned is its infrastructure. Among all the neighboring colleges (It will not be good to address them), HITK has the most beautiful campus. A lush-green campus that spreads around 10 acres. Three beautiful buildings namely – The Central Block (CB), the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) building, and the CME (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical). We have a huge Central Library provided with free internet Wi-Fi for the students. One of the center attractions of our campus is the “Swami Vivekananda (SV) Auditorium” where different events are organized. Although all the lecture halls and labs are amazingly maintained, being a Computer Science student I must say that the computer labs of our college are like heaven. Such huge computer labs in the ICT basement and the piece where you can code the best. For me, they are the most adorable part of the college.

Their guidance and support foster a positive learning atmosphere, encouraging students to excel academically.

Faculties: Heritage Institute of Technology boasts exceptional faculties who are passionate about their subjects and dedicated to their student’s growth. Events and Societies: Our College allows students to go beyond the mundane academic schedule and explore extra-curricular activities. There are a total of 24 different clubs and societies out there. Every student is allowed to take part in at most 3 clubs. The college clubs are amazing, the ones which I’m part of are – “Geeks United – Coding Club”, “Zubaan- The Language Club”, and “Google Developer Students Club (GDSC)- A developers community”. The “Geeks-United Club organizes “Code-frenzy” a monthly coding competition that is very enthusiastic. The “Zubaan” club organizes different workshops for the outstation students to get them learn the local languages. The GDSC club provides one of the best platforms for the budding developers to come up with their innovative ideas to solve real-world problems. These clubs often organizes different mentorship sessions such as- we recently attended the “TEDxKolkata” event which witnessed one of the great faces from the Tech-Industry and provided some insightful sessions to the students.

Placements: Heritage Institute of Technology boasts an impressive history of placements, having fostered connections with a multitude of renowned companies spanning various industries. Notable names like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and KPMG frequently partake in recruitment drives on campus, offering enticing career opportunities to students. While the average package for graduates hovers around 7-8 lakhs per annum, there are instances of exceptional achievements, with some students securing packages of up to 60 lakhs per annum. The college’s reputation within the industry shines through these successful placements, underscoring the competence of its graduates.

Remarkably, the college has exhibited exceptional performance in off-campus placements, setting an admirable precedent. This is best illustrated by the remarkable achievement of three students who secured an extraordinary CTC of 1.08 crore from Amazon, emphasizing the caliber of talent produced by the institution.

However, it’s worth noting that on-campus placements have been an area of concern for the college. Despite the individual successes, the average package might not match the expectations, signaling room for growth in this aspect.
