MAQ Software Interview Experience (On-Campus) 2023

The interview process of MAQ Software happened in Multiple rounds following the online assessment.

Eligibility Criteria : 

• 65% in 10th, 12th and Graduation Aggregate
• No Active backlog
• Batches: CS / IT / MCA

Rounds : 

• Online Test
• 2 Technical Interview
• HR Interview

Online Test: 

The online test consists of 30 aptitude questions and 4 coding questions.

Aptitude Questions were based on speed-time-distance, Time and Work, Profit and Loss, Percentages, HCF and LCM, etc.

Coding Questions: Coding questions were of easy-medium level. Two of them were simple and the other two were Dynamic Programming. MAQ Software focuses more on the concept of Dynamic Programming. I solved 3 questions completely and some test cases passed in the last question.

Technical Interview: Technical Interviews were held on-site in their office. After appearing for online rounds, 20 out of approx 150 candidates were selected for this round from our college. MAQ Software focuses more on DSA (especially DP), SQL, and DBMS.

    Technical Interview 1: This Interview round was Face to Face and focussed solely on DSA. This round was around 30 minutes long. They asked me the following question : 

             1) Balanced Parenthesis Problem: First, I used the Brute Force approach to solve this. Then they asked to optimize it. Then I solved it using Stack.

             Other candidates were asked questions like Rat in a Maze, Next Greater Element, and Check Palindrome Number, etc that too with an optimized approach.

             2) They asked me an SQL Question of “Finding second highest salary in a department”.

Technical Interview 2: In this round, They asked me the following questions. Further, they asked me about some DBMS concepts :

• Check if a number is Palindrome or Not with both the Iterative and Recursive approaches.
• Normalization, 1NF, 2NF, 3NF, BCNF. 
• ACID Properties 

3) HR Interview: Some of the candidates appeared for this round but HR-related questions were asked of me in the Technical Interview Round 2. So, I didn’t appear separately for this round. As HR Questions, they asked me the following questions : 

• Where do you live?
• How many family members are there in your family and what do they do?
• Why is there decrement in marks in graduation compared to 12th?
• Why are you interested in joining us?

Finally, I got selected. The overall Interview process took almost 12 hours for all the candidates. Out of 20, Only 3 candidates were selected.
