Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan Interview Experience For Patent Analyst Engineer (Off-Campus) 2023

There were a total of 4 rounds.

Round 1: English Written Test (45 minutes)

  • MCQs (Pick out the wrong part of the sentence)
  • Jumbled sentences
  • An essay on one out of four topics:
  1. Effect of social media- good or bad?
  2. G20 summit
  3. AI- good for us or not
  4. I don’t remember the exact topic but it was related to Science and technology.

TIPS: Only basic English is checked, so prepare for that only. For the essay, try knowing the recent hot topics

Round 2: Group Discussion (15-20 minutes)

  • 4 groups of 10-12 students were created. Each group was given one of the topics from the essay. The group was divided into two, one group had to speak in favor of the topic and the other against it.
  • Everyone was given a chance to speak.

TIPS: Your fluency in English and basic knowledge about the topic was checked.

After 1 hour we got the list of shortlisted students from Round 1 and 2 for the PI round.

Round 3: PI (30-45 minutes)

  • Introduce yourself
  • Then my resume was scanned by the interviewer and questions were asked related to my technical skills, certifications I have done, and my projects.
  • My role in the project and what did the project do.

I answered Automata, so questions from Automata were asked

List out all the subjects semester-wise you have studied so far.

Questions from Soft Computing were asked as it was one of the subjects in my B.Tech.

  1. How much are you aware of recent technologies?
  2. Do you know about the launch of Chandrayaan 3?
  3. What made our Chandrayaan mission so cost-effective?
  4. How well do you know about the job role you are applying for
  5. Why do you want to join us when you are so interested in programming?
  6. Explain any sorting technique
  7. Questions from Soft Computing were asked as it was.

3 students were selected for the job the next day. Some students had another PI round.

Round 4: PI (30-45 minutes)

  1. Introduce yourself
  2. How well do you know about the job role you are applying for
  3. Why do you want to join us when you are so interested in programming
  4. This job profile requires the candidate to be ready to learn new things. Are you prepared for that?
  5. What subjects you have studied in the first year
  6. What was your favorite subject

Questions from 11-12th class physics were asked

  1. What is mutual induction, give an example
  2. Explain the phenomenon of TIR (total internal Refraction)
  3. What is the difference between reflection and refraction
  4. What conditions are required for refraction to occur?
  5. Explain the Anomalous expansion of water.
  6. What do you know about generative AI?
  7. What is the difference between AI and Generative AI?

Results were announced the next day

Basically for the post of Patent Analyst Engineer in Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan, you should be fluent in English and know the basic grammar. You should also read your resume well and be ready for any follow-up questions. You should have some general knowledge about the famous and current technologies. Do a quick recap of all the subjects you have studied in your graduation.
