ISS Governance Interview Experience (On-Campus)

This was an on-campus placement process where the company visited our college to hire a Junior Analyst level for the Development Team in ISS MUM.

Hiring Process consisted of 3 main rounds:-

  1. Online Aptitude Test
  2. Technical Interview
  3. HR Interview

Let’s discuss each of the three rounds in detail:-

Online Aptitude Test

For the online aptitude test, all the students who had applied for a job were selected for the test. The initial stage of the interview process was an aptitude test, which proved to be a challenging but rewarding experience. The test comprised two main sections—technical questions and aptitude questions. The technical segment encompassed Java, Python, and SQL, with an emphasis on Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and predicting program outputs. Meanwhile, the aptitude section featured quantitative and logical reasoning questions. Within the given 90-minute time frame, I engaged in thoughtful problem-solving and analysis. Important thing to point is that negative marking was there for wrong answers.

After online aptitude test around 27 students were shortlisted for Technical Interview.

Technical Interview

In a technical interview, there were two panelists one was present there and one had joined from the meet. First, the question was tell me about yourself. After that interviewer asked me a few questions about my resume, In my case, I had added nodejs in my resume so the interviewer asked me questions on that. Then interviewer who had joined online shifted the interview to aptitude questions, he asked me the approach for those questions, my thinking, and answers for those questions (aptitude questions mostly were what would be the output of the above code). After asking 4 to 5 questions they asked me one basic question which was to count the number of digits in a number (but in Java or Python because that is what they wanted no other programming language was allowed). And second question based on OOPs which was consist of multiple sub-questions. Yes, so that was all about Technical interview experience. Their main requirement was a good knowledge of Java or Python and a very high knowledge of OOP concepts and programming concepts.

After Technical Interview around 6 students were selected for HR Interview

HR Interview

HR Interview was more of a conversation rather than interview so it was wo chill!!

The subsequent HR interview provided a chance to showcase my personality, interpersonal skills, and overall fit for the organization. Naturally, it commenced with the familiar “Introduce yourself” prompt.

Further delving into my life, the interviewers inquired about my college choice, family dynamics, and the challenges I encountered while working on diverse projects. They expressed a particular interest in understanding my rationale behind choosing a diploma course after 10th grade, recognizing the distinct advantages diploma students may possess over traditional engineering students. A noteworthy topic arose as they asked about my experiences collaborating with engineering students and the overall impact of such interactions.

One notable question posed during the HR interview was about the disparity between my aptitude and technical scores. I addressed this candidly, sharing insights into areas of improvement and my dedication to bridging the gap in the future.

Talking about the overall interview experience it was quite good and if anyone is applying to this company then make sure that you have strong OOP concepts and Strong knowledge of either Python or Java along with Programming Concepts.
