College: Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering, Pune

Position Applied: GFG Club Technical Head at College

I recently interviewed for a position as a technical head of the GeeksforGeeks (GFG) Club at Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering, Pune. The interview process was a mix of assessing my technical skills, passion for coding, and enthusiasm for promoting a coding culture within the college community.

Round 1: Technical Coding Challenge

The first round consisted of a hands-on coding challenge. I was given a problem related to data structures and algorithms and was required to solve it within a given time frame. The purpose was to evaluate my problem-solving skills and coding proficiency. The interviewers also encouraged me to explain my thought process while coding, adding a layer of communication assessment.

Round 2: Project Discussion

In the second round, the interviewers asked about any coding projects I had worked on previously. I presented a project related to a real-world problem and discussed the challenges faced, the technologies used, and the overall impact of the project. This round aimed to gauge my practical coding experience and ability to articulate my work effectively.

Round 3: Group Activity – Problem Solving

The third round involved a group activity where candidates were given a coding problem to solve collectively. This exercise assessed teamwork, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills. The interviewers were keen on observing how well candidates could interact and contribute to a group coding session.

Round 4: Interviewer’s Choice

The final round was a bit unpredictable. The interviewers asked questions about my favorite programming language, any recent tech news, and my reasons for joining the GFG Club. This round was more about understanding my passion for coding, staying updated with the tech world, and aligning my interests with the club’s goals.

Overall Impression:

The GFG Club interview at XYZ University was a dynamic and engaging experience. It not only focused on technical prowess but also highlighted the importance of teamwork, communication, and a genuine interest in coding. The interviewers were supportive and created an environment where candidates could showcase their skills comfortably. I left the interview feeling energized about the prospect of being part of a community that shares a common love for coding and continuous learning.
