- The wheel was the first ever invention in human history.
- Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone.
- The invention of the aeroplane is credited to Wilbur and Orville Wright, who flew their aeroplane for 12 seconds on December 17, 1903.
- Edison invented the lightbulb, the phonograph, and the motion picture camera.
- George Washington Carver invented peanut butter.
- There are currently more than 230 million patents. An exclusive right granted to someone for their invention is known as a Patent.
- The first patent was granted in 1421 to the German goldsmith Johannes Gutenberg for his printing press.
- In 1876, George Eastman invented paper film, which made photography popular with people from all walks of life.
- Although not an invention, Alexander Fleming accidentally discovered penicillin in 1928 when he left a Petri dish uncovered and mould grew on it.10 – The first electric vacuum cleaner was invented in 1901 by Hubert Cecil Booth.
