HSBC Off-Campus Drive – Sharing my Experience!
I wanted to share my experience with the HSBC off-campus drive that I participated in in November.

Round 1:(Aptitude and Coding):

Total questions: 90, Total Time Given: 90min

This whole round was conducted on the CoCubes Platform. This round can be sub-divided into 3 sections:-

  1. English: There were a total of 20 questions based on paragraph completion, tenses and conjunctions.
  2. Analytical: There were a total of 20 questions based on Logical Reasoning, Critical Thinking and Easy Puzzles. The questions were a little lengthy but with some prior practice, it should not be a problem.
  3. Technical MCQs: There were a total of 50 questions based on Java, SQL, Cloud Computing, OS, DBMS, Computer Networks, HTML, and JS.

Round 2- Value Assessment Round (Total questions: ~60)

In this round, normal behavioural and situational questions are asked. This is a very short-duration round which usually varies between 16 minutes to 30 minutes. One thing to take care of, this is also an elimination round because we first thought this was just for formality but HSBC being a bank, is very strict about the values of the organization and its employees.

Round 3- Technical Interview(40min)

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Tell me about your family background
  • Tell me about your city and why it’s famous
  • Travelling and reading Nobles were mentioned among my hobbies. So he again spent some more minutes talking on the same.
  • I was also asked to write 2 pretty basic programming questions, one was String Palindrome and the other was a reverse linked list.
  • Explain your projects to me. Asked on every project about the technologies used with a brief description. Give me a paper pen to create a wireframe for my project.
  • Last question do you have any questions? This is a good opportunity to learn about the company.

Round 4:HR Round(15min)

  • Introduction
  • Could you please elaborate on any leadership qualities you possess and provide an example of a situation where you effectively demonstrated these qualities?
  • “Could you please share a recent achievement or accomplishment that you’re particularly proud of and describe how it positively impacted your team or organization?”
Willing to Relocate or not. (Will be asked to choose from one of the two locations)
  • Situation: 10 people say that person X is annoying and you have to share a room with him. What will you do?
  • Any questions from me(HR)?
