Interview Overview:

The interview happened at our college campus and lasted for around 20 minutes. The panel consisted of the HR manager and the Sales manager. The atmosphere there was good and friendly. The panelist tried to make me feel comfortable.

Interview Questions and Responses:

  • Tell me something about yourself.

I explained my background, academic qualifications, and college experience and highlighted my internship experiences and positions in my school and college. I told them about my interest in art and craft and drawing. I mentioned my hobby of reading.

  • Explain your roles and responsibilities during your internships in detail.

I highlighted my relevant experience in the field, including detailed information on how I generated leads, closed them, and built a close network of prospective clients. I also mentioned the figures mentioning my sales targets. I also mentioned my roles and responsibilities as an HR executive during one of the internships.

  • Why do you choose sales over HR?

I explained the similarities in both fields and how they are interrelated. I convinced them I can work for both and am open to working in both fields.

  • How do you handle rejection?

I mentioned that rejection is a part of sales and I have learned something or the other from every rejection I have faced. I have always stayed motivated and set my goals.

  • Do you have team-handling experience?

I shared my experience in my previous company where I handles 2 – 3 interns and trained them to handle the whole recruitment process. I explained how effective communication, regular meetings, and leveraging each team member’s expertise contributed to positive feedback.

  • What strategies would you use in your daily sales?

I explained to them the importance of negotiations and convincing power for handling different clients. I highlighted the importance of following up promptly and proactively to keep the momentum going.

Conclusion:

Overall, the interview went very great the panelist was satisfied with my answers and my practical approach. They asked me if I have any questions to ask. They told me that I will be notified soon about the further process. I left the room and felt confident.
