I was excited and nervous as I prepared for my on-campus interview for the SDE Internship role at Expedia Group, a company renowned for its cutting-edge technology in the travel industry. The interview process was set to take place over one day, and it consisted of three rounds: a coding round, followed by two technical and behavioural interview rounds.

Coding Round:

The day began with the coding round, where candidates were given a challenging programming problem to solve. The task involved manipulating data structures and implementing an algorithm to achieve the desired output. With determination and focus, I worked through the problem, carefully considering edge cases and optimizing the solution for efficiency. I submitted my code within the allocated time, hoping that my efforts would be enough to advance to the next rounds.

Round 1: Technical and Behavioral Interview

After successfully clearing the coding round, I was immediately called in for the first technical and behavioral interview round. The interviewer greeted me warmly and initiated the conversation with questions about my technical background and past coding experiences. They also inquired about my interest in the travel industry and how I thought technology could shape its future.

Next, the interviewer presented me with technical challenges, including data structures and algorithms questions. I confidently approached each problem, discussing my thought process and solution approach with the interviewer. Additionally, they inquired about my problem-solving strategies and my ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Round 2: Technical and Behavioral Interview

Following a short break, I was called in for the second technical and behavioural interview round, which was also on the same day. This round delved deeper into technical concepts and coding challenges. The interviewer assessed my knowledge of advanced data structures, algorithm design, and software development principles.

During the technical portion, I was given complex coding problems to solve, which required a combination of creativity and technical expertise. I articulated my solutions step-by-step, explaining the reasoning behind each decision. Additionally, the interviewer evaluated my communication skills and how well I could collaborate with colleagues to tackle technical obstacles.

The Moment of Triumph:

After all the interviews were completed, the company representatives informed us that they would review our performance and contact the selected candidates at a later date. The waiting period felt both nerve-wracking and exciting.

Several days later, I received a long-awaited email from Expedia Group, inviting me to join their team as an SDE Intern! The feeling of triumph and accomplishment was overwhelming, and I eagerly looked forward to embarking on this exciting journey with a leading company in the travel and technology sector.

Overall, my on-campus interview experience with Expedia Group for the SDE Internship role was challenging yet rewarding. The process allowed me to showcase my technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and passion for technology. I am grateful for the opportunity to intern with Expedia Group and contribute to its mission of transforming the travel industry through innovative software solutions.
