1. iOS :
iOS is a mobile operating system which is provided by Apple Incorporation. It is mainly designed for Apple mobile devices like iPhone and iPod Touch. It was earlier known as iPhone OS. It is a Unix-like operating systems which is based on Darwin(BSD) operating system. It is the world’s second most used mobile operating system after Android. It is mainly written in C, C++, Objective-C, assembly language and Swift. The first version of iOS was launched in 2007.

2. MINIX 3 :
MINIX 3 is a free and open source operating system which was developed by Andrew S. Tanenbaum. It is published under the Berkeley Software Distribution license. It is an Unix-like operating systems. It is specially designed for workstations. It is derived from MINIX 1 and MINIX 2 operating systems. It is basically written using C language and assembly language. The first version of MINIX 3 was launched in 2005. The kernel used in this operating system is microkernel.

Difference between iOS and MINIX 3 :

7. It has the preferred license is Proprietary, APSL and GNU GPL. It has the preferred license of BSD.
8. It has default GUI ‘on’. It does not have default GUI ‘on’.
9. Its update management is Software Update. It does not have update management.
