It was a unique and eye-opening journey. It is not a proper software company but a very small-scale start-up inside a PBX factory in Mundka Industrial Area. Working in a hardware factory with a small software department, I was given the opportunity to be an individual contributor, which allowed me to take ownership of my projects and explore my capabilities to the fullest. The team dynamics were quite distinct from the typical corporate setup, as I closely collaborated with just 2-3 team members, fostering a close-knit and supportive environment. I was hired as a backend developer but had to contribute in frontend also, along with handling the database later. Also, there was no separate testing team, so all of us had to test the apis and UI after the development process.

Directly reporting to the Director provided me with invaluable exposure to the decision-making processes and a chance to learn from an experienced leader. While the lack of a formal work culture presented challenges, I found myself motivated by the abundance of learning opportunities that came my way. The responsibility of being an integral part of the software team in a hardware-focused organization pushed me to think creatively and find innovative solutions to various technical problems.

Despite the informal setting, I remained driven to deliver high-quality work and contribute meaningfully to the company’s projects. Being part of a smaller team also enabled me to develop strong interpersonal skills and build lasting relationships with my colleagues, fostering a sense of camaraderie that transcended the usual office hierarchy.

However, I must admit that the unprofessional management style at times presented hurdles that required adaptability and resourcefulness to overcome. Nevertheless, I embraced the challenges as learning experiences, refining my problem-solving abilities and resilience in the face of adversity.

In retrospect, my time at Crystal Smart Solutions was not just about gaining technical knowledge but also about understanding the intricacies of teamwork and navigating through a less conventional work environment. The exposure to real-world software development and the responsibility I was entrusted with have undoubtedly contributed to my professional growth and prepared me to face diverse challenges in the future. Overall, the journey as an SDE Intern in Crystal Smart Solutions was a mix of learning, growth, and building lasting connections with a small but dedicated team.
