Betsol’s campus recruitment drive in August 2023 involved a multistage selection process that aimed to assess candidates’ technical skills, communication abilities, and alignment with the company culture. Here’s an in-depth breakdown of each round:
Round 1: Technical MCQ (30 minutes)
- 40 MCQs covering Computer Networks (CN), Operating Systems (OS), Database Management Systems (DBMS), and aptitude.
- Time limit: 30 minutes.
- In our case, most emphasis was on aptitude including workload problems, boat river problems, and Infix/Postfix problems.
- Suggestion: Review fundamental concepts in these areas, and practice timed MCQ solving.
Round 2: Group Discussion (30 minutes)
- Successful MCQ round candidates are invited for a group discussion.
- Evaluation of communication, teamwork, and unique insights.
- Topics like “Does Social Media Really Connect People?” and “Knowledge vs Creativity”.
- Don’t cut people in between their talking and also try to raise mostly positive points.
- Suggestion: Develop active listening, structured argumentation, and respectful engagement.
Round 3: Technical Interview 1 (30-45 minutes)
Focused on networking due to candidate preference.
- Also, projects were asked to demonstrate live and very surface questions and asking.
- Time complexity is very important for basic programs.
- Code on the char frequency of strings without using a hashmap.
- Topics: DNS, OSI Layer, website visit process, encapsulation.
- Comfortable interview environment.
- Suggestion: Revise networking concepts, and provide real-world examples.
Round 4: Technical Interview 2 (30 minutes)
- Deep dive into networking concepts.
- Topics: Network Address Translation (NAT), ICMP, IGMP.
- Pillar of oops and real-life examples were asked.
- In-depth discussions are encouraged.
- Suggestion: Grasp theoretical and practical aspects, and understand implementations.
Round 5: Managerial Interview (30 minutes)
- Strong technical focus with network-related questions.
- Topics: NAT, ICMP, IGMP.
- Opportunity to showcase expertise and analytical skills.
- Suggestion: Revisit networking concepts, and explain their significance clearly.
Round 6: HR Interview (10 minutes)
- Self-introduction, feedback on the selection process.
- Exploration of personal traits, strengths, weaknesses, company familiarity, future plans.
- Opportunity for candidates to inquire about internships and full-time roles.
Final Outcome
– From an initial pool of 200 candidates, 8 people were selected with varying CTC based on their performance in other rounds.
