I am a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at the Army Institute of Technology in Pune. Arriving here has proven to be one of the most pivotal decisions I’ve ever made. My journey thus far has been a tumultuous whirlwind, filled with exhilarating highs and daunting lows.

About the campus:

Stepping onto our campus feels like entering a lush oasis, where vibrant greenery surrounds us at every turn. From the well-maintained sports facilities boasting squash courts, badminton courts, football grounds, basketball courts, volleyball courts, kabaddi courts, table tennis arenas, and even a lawn tennis court, to the inviting fruit shop and bustling canteen, every corner exudes an atmosphere of vitality.

Nestled beneath the academic block lie the specialized department blocks, each housing its classrooms, workshops, and cutting-edge labs. Whether it’s the Mechanical Department with its innovative CAD and CAE labs or the dynamic IT, ENTC, and COMP departments, our campus is a hub of academic excellence.

For cultural and intellectual pursuits, the Raman Theatre hosts a myriad of events, while the Manekshaw Hall sets the stage for stimulating seminars and hackathons. The Aryabhatt Centre stands as a beacon of knowledge, housing a vast library, a serene reading hall, and the bustling TPO office, all equipped with seamless wifi connectivity.

In the heart of the academic block, the BCJ serves as a nexus for spirited debates and engaging classroom sessions. Our newest addition, the Automation and Robotics branch, heralds a future of innovation and technological advancement.

As for our residential facilities, we take pride in our four boys’ hostels and the Kalpana Chawla Girls’ Hostel, affectionately known as KCH. Within these havens, students find everything they need, from state-of-the-art gyms and tranquil study halls to cosy recreation rooms and communal TV areas. The mess facilities offer delectable cuisine served with utmost hygiene, while diligent workers ensure spotless washrooms and pristine living spaces. With vigilant guards and caring wardens, safety and security are paramount in our hostels.

In every aspect, our campus is not just a place of learning, but a thriving community where every individual can flourish and thrive.

First-Year Experience:

In my first year, I embarked on a journey filled with diverse interactions and shared experiences. Coming from varied corners of the country, my peers and I shared a common bond – our parents’ service in the army. This commonality served as a bridge, fostering a deep sense of camaraderie and understanding among us.

Immersing myself in extracurricular activities became second nature, with cycling being a standout experience. Venturing out with an all-boys team for a memorable 60-kilometre ride to Khadkwasla, I found exhilaration in the challenge. Despite being the sole girl, I embraced the adventure wholeheartedly. Inspired by the thrill of cycling, more girls joined subsequent rides, creating a vibrant community of enthusiasts.

As the year progressed, I delved deeper into the rich tapestry of club cultures and activities our campus offered. From organizing events to mastering the intricacies of sponsorship marketing and web development, I found myself immersed in a world of technical innovation. Fluttering into the realm of web development and design, I ventured beyond my comfort zone, each task a stepping stone toward personal growth.

Amidst the whirlwind of activities, I forged meaningful connections, weaving a tapestry of new friendships that enriched my collegiate experience. My first year was not just about academic exploration; it was a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the joy of embracing new challenges head-on.

Second and Third-Year Experience:

In my second and third years at AIT, I discovered a profound sense of camaraderie that transcended mere friendship. The bond between seniors and juniors was not just about age or hierarchy; it was a mutual respect woven into the fabric of our campus culture. Juniors affectionately addressed their seniors as “sir” or “ma’am,” extending greetings of good morning, afternoon, evening, or good night as a mark of reverence and camaraderie.

One unwritten rule-governed these interactions: no greetings were exchanged inside the academic block or in the presence of faculty members. Yet, beyond these confines, whether within the college premises or in the wider world beyond, the same cherished senior-junior culture prevailed. It was a testament to the enduring spirit of unity and respect that defines the AIT community.

As third-year students, the focus shifted towards career aspirations and placements. With determination and grit, we poured our efforts into preparing for interviews and honing our skills, working tirelessly day and night. The pursuit of excellence was fueled not just by ambition but also by the ample opportunities for scholarships and recognition.

In the crucible of academia, the bonds forged between seniors and juniors grew stronger, fostering an environment where mutual support and encouragement were the cornerstones of success. As we navigated the challenges of higher education, we were united by a shared commitment to excellence and a collective aspiration for a brighter future.

Summary:-

Wishing to get the best out of it from here inside my personality and performance.

Striving for personal and professional excellence, embracing challenges, seeking growth, fostering relationships, and making a meaningful impact.

Thank you
