AITD GOA Campus Experience

Agnel Institute of Technology and Design is the youngest engineering college in Goa which is commonly known as AITD. It was established in the year 2012, and it is approximately a kilometre away from the city of Mapusa. My journey with this institute has been nothing short of extraordinary, from witnessing its construction during my childhood to eventually becoming a student and studying here. AITD’s well-built infrastructure and beautiful surroundings adds great value to the overall learning experience. Agnel Institute of Technology and Design was established in year 2012 under the Agnel Trust, AITD provides three departments, with each department having their own student council. The three departments are Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

AITD builds students’ confidence and talents. One of its major technical event is ‘TechUrja,’. It is a national-level technical event where students from various colleges come to showcase their technical and logical skills. It ranges from robotics and coding challenges to quizzes and games and much more, TechUrja is a playground of tech enthusiasts. The bonds made with students from other colleges during the event makes it a great and truly unforgettable experience. All the event preparations for TechUrja are undertaken by the students themselves, guided by the faculty.

The other major event is ‘FACT’ (Fusion of Art, Culture, and Talent), an annual inter-department competition that brings out the students’ various talents. Dancing, singing, mime, debates, rangoli, and other various events which helps to builds up diversity and unity among the students.

The college actively promotes sports and encourages students to participate in various activities and events. ‘Agnel Arena,’ is the pride of the campus, it is a proof of the college’s will to promote all-round growth and development in their students. The sport&#x2019s event ‘INVICTUS’ is another major sports event which test physical strength and mental strength as well.

The annual day at AITD is an occasion filled with joy and gives recognition to the deserving students. It acts as a day to launch the college magazine, and provides a stage to congratulate outstanding academic and sports achievements, and present the annual report which shows the year’s milestones achieved by the college.

AITD’s has a commitment towards the environment. The entire college, including staff and students, participates in a annually in the campus cleanliness drive, which brings in a culture of care for our environment in the minds of the students. The Institute Innovation Council (IIC) at AITD brings a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. It guides the students by conducting expert talk sessions, on-site visits, and various business competitions, and provides financial help to students to achieve their goals and help in shaping future entrepreneurs of the country. As I look at my journey at AITD, I am grateful to the college for providing opportunities, inculcating growth and making us better in every aspect and a better individual.

AITD, though the youngest among Goa’s engineering colleges, it is one of the best in Goa. It&#x2019s beautiful campus, friendly staff, and the friends I have made here created a great atmosphere for me to give my best and excel. AITD, has left an permanent mark in my life, and I will never forget the moments spent during my college years.
