ADGITM Campus Experience

I am currently a student at ADGITM, affiliated with IPU (Indraprastha University). I chose this institution because it offered the computer science program that I desired. The campus comprises four buildings, each dedicated to different subjects: ECE, AI, Civil, and CSE. While the classrooms lack air conditioning, they are well-ventilated. The campus is surrounded by greenery and even has parrots.

There are two decently-sized outdoor grounds for various sports, including basketball and table tennis for indoor games. The parking space within and outside the campus is sufficient. However, when it comes to civil and mechanical subjects, the tools available may not be the best, but they cover the basics.

Initially, as a first-year student, I felt a bit disappointed with my college choice. However, my passion for my subject helped me overcome this feeling. The teachers at ADGITM are supportive and helpful, and there are opportunities for informal conversations with professors. One of the highlights of IPU is that the professors rarely conduct strict evaluations.

During the first semester, I had subjects unrelated to computer science, such as engineering drawing, woodwork, metal cutting, melting iron, and quantum physics. Although these subjects seemed challenging, they were also quite exciting. In the second semester, I started making new friends while self-learning my computer science subjects. We were also introduced to the basics of the C programming language.

The second year, particularly the third semester, introduced some fascinating subjects, including data structures, algorithms, C++, and discrete mathematics. However, the fourth semester was a bit dull as the number of computer science subjects decreased, and we had more theory-based courses like PSLP (Probability, Statistics, and Linear Programming), Circuit and Systems, but we had Java programming.

I have Just Completed my Second year so won’t be able to add much after it.

ADGITM offers a wide range of clubs and societies, such as drama, dance, fashion, gaming, and music. These clubs are interactive and foster creativity. Although I haven’t joined any of them yet, as they require staying after college hours (after 3 p.m.), they provide great opportunities for extracurricular involvement.
