Loyola Academy Campus Experience

This article is about my personal experience at Loyola Academy, Old Alwal, Secunderabad. I have completed my master’s in Organic Chemistry from the institution. It was an enriching experience throughout the duration of the course. The college and its curriculum are designed so that every student can pay equal attention to his/her studies and extracurricular activities. Admission into the institution is through the entrance exam conducted by the college itself. The same applies to the PG courses too except M.Sc. in organic chemistry and M.sc Biotechnology. Admission into these courses occurs through the PG entrance exam CPGET (common Postgraduate entrance exam) conducted by the state government.

The journey started in the month of Feb 2022, with an orientation program. The first interaction with the management was indeed a great experience. I was a day scholar and used to travel every day by TSRTC bus but most students who moved from their cities preferred the hostels.

Academics

As per academics, Loyola Academy has immensely talented faculty. The curriculum is appropriately designed to meet the needs of the students. The faculty has always been very supportive of the students. A regular assessment through exams is continuously done. Also, the management ensures that regular feedback is taken from the students and that any issues regarding the faculty are addressed.

Sports

The sports department has always shown nothing but excellence. The students are trained every day on a regular basis. They are provided with all the facilities and coaching. The students are provided with opportunities at the regional, state, and national levels too.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure is maintained very nicely. The college has a library where almost all books from all the departments are present. it has two playgrounds, a basketball court, a volleyball court, and an indoor stadium for badminton and basketball. The entire college has around 6 blocks, covering all the courses. The entire campus is covered with greenery. The cafeteria is also pretty good. The college consists of 4 auditoriums, Inigo Hall being the largest, accommodating around 500- 600 people. The best part is the Church.

Placements

The institution provides an equal opportunity to all the students to showcase their skills and talents and grab a placement. The institution also provides CRT classes for enhancing their skills. Assistance from the faculty and the placement cell is continuously provided.

NCC

NCC is also a significant part of the organization. the institution has NCC Battalions belonging to both the army and airforce. The NCC wing of the college shows exemplary dedication and hard work. The students are provided with enormous opportunities such as Republic Day parades, Thal Sena camps, and many more.

Extracurricular activities

The college believes in the all-round development of students. Numerous competitions within and outside the college are conducted regularly providing the students an opportunity to enhance their skills.
