UIT RGPV, Bhopal Campus Experience for B.Tech in IT

I have done my Bachelor’s from the University Institute of Technology, RGPV, Bhopal which is a pretty esteemed institute in the state of Madhya Pradesh besides, IET-DAVV, MITS, and SGSIT. My college experience was a roller coaster rise. It had its ups and downs. It was good and easygoing at first but becomes a fish market once you are close to being placed in the corporate world.

My first-year to final-year journey:

My journey was pretty okay. Very minimal to no fests are conducted in this college. You are forced to give 3 mid-sems in every semester. No on-campus internship opportunities are provided and professors are not very helpful. You are entirely on your own.

College society, Asper helped me a lot. I met some great people there. They guided me very well otherwise it would have been a disaster for me.

Hostel life is good. Hostels are decent and have good infrastructure.

Anyway, I graduated and didn’t opt for placements because I want to pursue M.Tech and work in the research field.

Campus Life:

The campus is good with lush green gardens and has a pretty good sports complex. It has well-equipped labs with the latest Core-i7 computers, but professors will never teach you anything in the lab. Most professors don’t take any lectures from 3rd sem itself. You are given no guidance about internships. Well, this is the case for most colleges so it is up to you. You need to be active, have proper social networks and have knowledge about upcoming opportunities.

College Clubs/Societies:

The college clubs here are very active and good. They actually teach you a lot. It also helps you to maintain relations with seniors. Participating in a college society should be a must because unlike your teachers they actually keep you on your tip toes with work, assignments, and amazing Hackathons. They also provide guidance and without proper guidance, you can never excel in college.

Placements:

Placements are decent here, better than most colleges in Bhopal but still, it is not a very good college for placements. Placements in Indore are far better. However, the college received NBA accreditation in 2023 which has boosted its value. It is a tier-1 college after all but doesn’t depend on-campus placements too much. If you work well enough you can bag a campus placement up to 10-15 lakhs.

Fees and Infrastructure:

It has a very minimal fee of about 23,000 and the infrastructure is decent but still lacks in teaching practical implementation.
