There were total 4 rounds of interviews:

Round 1: Group Discussion

In this round, candidates are divided into groups and given a topic for discussion. The participants are then expected to discuss the topic, share their viewpoints, and engage in a constructive conversation.

Here are some tips to excel in a group discussion interview round:

  • Listen attentively: Pay close attention to the topic and what other participants are saying. Active listening is essential to understand the various perspectives presented during the discussion.
  • Understand the topic: If you don’t grasp the topic clearly, seek clarification from the interviewer or other participants. It’s crucial to have a good understanding of the subject before expressing your opinions.
  • Be assertive, not aggressive: Confidence is important, but avoid being too dominant or aggressive. Respect the opinions of others and allow them to speak as well.
  • Speak clearly and confidently: When you speak, enunciate your words clearly, and maintain a confident tone. Avoid mumbling or speaking too softly.
  • Support your points with examples: Whenever possible, back up your arguments with real-life examples or relevant data. This shows that you have a good understanding of the topic.
  • Respect others’ opinions: Even if you disagree with someone, be respectful in your response. Refrain from interrupting or belittling others.
  • Encourage participation: If you notice someone who is quiet or hesitant, politely ask for their input. Encouraging others to participate demonstrates your leadership and team-building skills.
  • Stay on topic: Avoid going off on tangents or straying too far from the main subject. Keep the discussion focused and productive.
  • Manage time effectively: If there’s a time limit for the discussion, be mindful of it. Don’t monopolize the conversation or let it veer too far from the topic.
  • Body language: Pay attention to your body language. Maintain eye contact, sit upright, and avoid fidgeting. Non-verbal cues also play a role in communication.
  • Conclusion and summarization: If the discussion is coming to an end, you can take the initiative to summarize the key points discussed during the session.

Remember, the goal of a group discussion interview is not just to prove that you are the most vocal or assertive person in the room. It’s about demonstrating your ability to work well with others, consider multiple perspectives, and engage in a collaborative and constructive manner.
