Preparation:

During my college days, we admired getting a job in TCS as we feel like it is a government job. I started preparation for the TCS Assessment which is scheduled to write from designated TCS NQT ION examination centers. The exam hall ticket is released 15 days earlier to the exam. so I focused much on its preparation using the TCS learning portal, GFG, and some other resources.

TCS NQT ASSESSMENT:

To write NQT Assessment we need to go to the ION exam center and make sure to take your ID proof and Hall ticket with you. The Exam will take around 1 hour and 45 minutes. In which you will have aptitude and coding sections. you can switch between sections whenever you required. I strongly suggest looking through the coding section if you can solve them go ahead and then you can utilize much time for aptitude assessment.

The aptitude section consists of 60-65 questions on topics like Time, Speed, Distance, shapes, logic building, ratios, Family tree, Error detection, and correction, Fill in the blanks, and some Mathematical questions which we need to solve in 60 minutes.

The coding section consists of two questions in which 1 will be easy and the other will be a bit harder. Mostly the questions will come from fundamental concepts like problem-solving, arrays, graphs, and trees.

Technical Interview:

Preparing for my TCS interview was a mix of excitement and nervousness. To get ready for the technical round, I relied on GeeksforGeeks material, which proved to be quite helpful for the role I was aiming for. Additionally, I strongly recommend exploring the TCS learning portal, especially the communication and IT courses, as they significantly benefited me during the interview.

During the interview, I also faced coding challenges related to palindromes, Fibonacci numbers, and stacks. The technical round also covered essential topics like arrays, linked lists, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) concepts. They were also interested in knowing my preferred coding language and why I chose it.

HR Interview:

In the HR round, they wanted to learn more about me, my background, and my flexibility regarding job location. some of the questions they asked are tell me about yourself, what are your strengths, are you flexible to work from anywhere, How you will solve tough situations, how you will resolve team conflicts, etc.

One of the most memorable moments during the interview was when one of the interviewers appreciated my knowledge about TCS and the technologies they are currently working on. It was a moment of pride and encouragement for me. I received positive feedback, and they informed me that they would get back to me soon.

Suggestion:

For those aspiring to interview with TCS, I highly recommend taking the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) which will open you to wide openings not only in TCS but also in some other companies which hire using NQT score and utilizing the resources available on the TCS learning portal and GFG for preparation. A solid understanding of OOPs, stacks, arrays, and linked lists is beneficial. Be proactive and well-prepared before the interview to approach it with confidence.
