Hello Everyone,

SOTI conducted their off-campus drive for B. Tech students(CSE) for the role of Associate Software Developer.

There were a total of 2 rounds, so let’s look at this one by one.

ROUND 1 [Online Coding Test]

This round was conducted on the mettle platform and it consisted of 3 questions from Data Structures & Algorithms. The first one is easy, the second one is medium, and the third one is hard you need to solve at least 2 questions and half of the test cases in the third one to get selected. The first question is to find the given string palindrome or not, the second is string permutations medium level and the third is on the graph. I was able to solve all three questions in one and a half hours. After one week selection mail for interview was received. A total of 2 got selected for the next round in our college.

ROUND 2 [Technical + HR Interview]

This round was conducted on Google Meet. I joined 5 minutes before the call as mentioned. Exactly at the meeting time HR interviewer joined the call and asked me whether I had eaten my breakfast or not. What breakfast did you eat? He asked these questions because he observed I was nervous at that time. Then he asked me the following questions.

  • Brief Introduction.
  • What are additional activities you like apart from studies in your college?
  • Did you give any seminars or PowerPoint presentations in your college in front of your entire department?

I answered all the questions, and then the technical interviewer joined the call and asked the following questions.

  1. He gave a DSA question, the question there are two strings you have to find whether one string is a substring of another string or not. Here is the GFG Problem. I gave him the approach and he asked me to code the same. I wrote the code.
  2. He gave two code snippets and you have to find the output, one is on the switch concept and another one is on pre and post-increment. I give answers to the questions.
  3. He asked me some basic questions on OOPS about the pillars of the Oops and ACID properties in DBMS.
  4. Then he asked me what the subjects in the current semester, then he picked machine learning from my answer and asked some basic questions like what is machine learning and any one algorithm from machine learning.

He said that’s all from my end then the HR interviewer asked about location preference and why you chose the location.

Finally, after one hour my interview was over.

Verdict: Selected
