Application Process:

To apply for MCA admission in Maharashtra, I appeared for the Common Entrance Test (CET). I scored 22 marks, which corresponds to a percentile of 55. After the CET, I filled out the CAP (Centralized Admission Process) round forms. I participated in the second CAP round and fortunately, I was selected. I completed the form-filling process and submitted all the required original documents.

Criteria for Admission:

The eligibility criteria for the MCA course state that candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks overall (45% for candidates belonging to backward classes and PwD residing in Maharashtra only). Additionally, candidates must have studied mathematics at either the (10+2) level or at the graduation level.

Reasons for Choosing this College:

Sinhgad College, which I had dreamt of attending, was among the top choices on my list. It is a reputable institute known for its knowledgeable faculty and excellent placement records. The college offers a wide range of interesting courses, and the campus facilities are remarkable. Choosing this college provides me with opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Admission Examination Experience:

The journey toward my dream college started with the CET. The admission process consisted of two CAP rounds. In the first CAP round, I listed various colleges in Pune, including Sinhgad College, which was among my top five choices. However, I was initially offered admission to JSPM College, which was not my preferred option. Nevertheless, I took a risk and decided to hold onto the JSPM College seat by paying a non-refundable fee of 1000 rupees. I then proceeded to fill out the form for the second CAP round. Before applying, I conducted research on the cut-off marks required for Sinhgad College and took a chance by including it as one of my three college choices in the form. Finally, luck was on my side, and I was allotted a seat in Sinhgad College. This news filled me with immense happiness and satisfaction.

Admission Interview Experience:

In my case, there was no specific mention of an admission interview. The admission was primarily based on the CET score and CAP rounds. Hence, I did not have any interview experience to share.

The entire admission experience was amazing filled with uncertainties and challenges. Initially, not being allotted my desired college in the first CAP round was disappointing. However, I took a decision to hold onto another college and had to pay a non-refundable fee. This required careful consideration and faith in my abilities. Thankfully, my persistence paid off, and I was able to secure a seat at Sinhgad College through the second CAP round. The whole process taught me the importance of taking calculated risks and being patient throughout the journey

The shortlisting of candidates in the CAP rounds is done based on the availability of seats and the candidate’s CET score. The allocation of seats and the announcement of results can take some time due to the number of candidates and administrative procedures involved. It is to stay updated with the official

learning experience from the admission process, my admission experience was of ups and downs.
