RVSCET Jamshedpur Campus Experience

My College name is R.V.S College of Engineering and Technology. It is located in the city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It is also the first private engineering of Jamshedpur. RVSCET is spread in a lush green area of 30 acres. The college campus is equipped with all modern facilities such as Wi-Fi, 24*7 electricity, CCTV cameras for surveillance, etc. The college has 4 main buildings named-B0,B1,B2,B3. 1st year classes are held in building B3 and 2nd, 3rd and 4th year classes are held in B2. Since, RVSCET promotes sports and extracurricular activities as much as academics, it has one cricket ground, one football ground, a volleyball court, badminton court, a basketball court and a small open gym with modern equipment. There is also a open stage near the main building(B1) in which all the college events are held.

First-Year Experience: I took admission in 2021, so my college session started in the end of 2021. First I had my induction program for a week. But then again 3rd wave of covid came, and my classes shifted online. After the covid wave was over, my offline classes started. During the first year, it was all about interacting with different people. The best part of engineering colleges is that I got to interact with people from different states. So, interacting with people from different background promotes diversity and it has also widened my vision. In the first year, I have made some good friends, made several new connections, etc. Also, during my first year, I took part in speech competitions and did anchoring which helped me overcome my stage fear. I also took part in “Frolic” which is the annual sports fest of my college. Since, during first year, students are more concerned about CGPA. So, I was also one among them and I also maintained a good CGPA. So, this was my first year experience.

Second-Year Experience: During second year, my subjects changed and I was introduced to the core subjects. To be honest, as my second year classes started, I had a tough time maenaging subjects. I was stressed over my academics as the subjects sometimes seemed very difficult to understand(which is a pretty common thing in engineering). But somehow, I managed to maintain a decent CGPA. In second year, although I was stressed over my academics but still I took part in many extracurricular activities. Since, people recognized me as a good anchor, I was made the main anchor for the annual Techno-Cultural fest named “Provenance”. It was indeed a great experience to interact with a huge audience. Also, I was the head anchor for the Freshers Day named “Prarambh”. These experiences helped me to change my personality from an introvert person to a confident person, who can interact with people. This was all about my second year experience.

Third-Year Experience: Currently, I am a 3rd Year student. So, till now everything is going good with each new day giving a new experience.

Student Culture: Its been more than 1.5 years and I think the best part about RVSCET is the student culture. Here you can find students of every type, from nerds to sportsman, to people who are managing both amazingly. I can proudly say that in my college, we have the best senior-junior bonding. Our seniors help us in every domain, be it academics or sports. They treat us like their brothers. We don’t have to think twice before approaching any senior, be it girl or boy.

Placements: The placement scenario in RVSCET is quite good. This year, the placement stats were quite impressive, packages ranging from 3.5 LPA to 7 LPA. CSE branch gave the highest number of placements. Companies like Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Tata Technologies, Mphasis, etc took part in the campus drive. For a private college situated in Jharkhand, the placements are decent if you compare it with other neighboring colleges.

As a conclusion, I would like to say that, if you want to pursue your higher education from Jharkhand, then RVSCET should in the top of your preferences. The college is improving with each passing day and it will surely be a dream college for many in the near future.
