Hello, everyone, I’m excited to share my experience of securing an Intern+FTE opportunity at Pure Software. The selection process was rigorous, and it involved three rounds of interviews and two tests of 30 minutes each, along with a 90-minute test that assessed

  • English comprehension,
  •  Aptitude
  •  DSA problems.

The first interview round was technical, and I found it to be relatively easy. The interviewer asked me to introduce myself and inquired about my projects and the challenges I faced while working on them. Since I’m interested in machine learning, there were some questions related to that as well. Additionally, the interviewer asked me about SQL queries and OOPs concepts. I also had to code a binary search solution and modify it to find the first occurrence of a number.

The second interview round was a mix of HR and technical questions. The interviewer delved deeper into my projects and asked me about my strengths and weaknesses. I had to share at least 3-4 weaknesses, which was a little challenging but also helped me reflect on my areas of improvement.

The last interview was entirely HR-based, and the questions focused on my experience with conflicts in projects and how I dealt with them. I was also asked to share a story from my life that I had not told anyone before. The interview ended with a briefing on the CTC breakdown and other official matters.

In hindsight, my in-depth knowledge of DSA and OOPs concepts, problem-solving skills, and effective communication helped me stand out during the selection process.

For juniors who are preparing for placements, my advice would be to keep a good grasp of their subjects, and problem-solving abilities, and maintain a good CGPA. It’s also crucial to not let nervousness get the better of you during the selection process.

I firmly believe that societies play a significant role in shaping an individual’s overall personality and preparing them for professional settings. Being part of a society can help students upskill themselves, enhance their communication skills, and develop as individuals.

Finally, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my experience with you all. I hope my story will be helpful to others who are preparing for their placement journeys.
