My College Journey: Embracing Growth and Learning

First Year: A Dream Deferred and Lessons Learned

My college journey began with a dream of entering prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs. However, reality had other plans, leading me to a private college. At first, frustration and disappointment lingered, but I soon realized the importance of embracing the journey rather than sitting and mourning my failure.

Facing Fears and Building Confidence

In the initial months, anxiety and fear dominated my college experience. FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and a lack of confidence hindered my participation in events. To combat this, I joined the college’s fine arts club, immersing myself in various activities. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I entered a debate competition, facing a large audience. Despite stumbling over words and delivering the worst speech ever, this experience became a turning point in my quest for confidence.

Navigating Academic Challenges

Determined to succeed, I shifted my focus to academics. Unfortunately, my initial approach mirrored the pitfalls of my JEE preparation. Shallow studying resulted in a CGPA dip from 8.5 to 7.6. A crucial lesson emerged: success demands a depth of understanding rather than a mere pursuit of grades.

Second Year: A Commitment to Growth

Exploring Practical Skills

Recognizing the need for practical skills, I enrolled in a service institute to learn cell phone and computer servicing. This hands-on experience exposed me to diverse individuals, from those aiming to establish service shops to others seeking basic electronics knowledge. The institute proved invaluable in enhancing my hardware skills.

Overcoming Personal Challenges

Amid academic pursuits, I faced a personal setback – a love failure. This taught me the delicate balance between personal and academic life. A piece of advice emerged: Get away from committing to relationships that may divert energy from achieving personal goals.

Yoga and Meditation: Tools for Resilience

Confronting depression, I turned to yoga and meditation. These practices equipped me with strength, helping me overcome emotional challenges and reinforcing my commitment to success.

Third Year: Unleashing the Power of Learning

Diversifying Technical Skills

As the third year commenced, I sought to broaden my technical skills. Learning web development through Udemy, I encountered challenges in progressing beyond the basics. To break this barrier, I embraced internships, securing offers from companies offering free internships.

Embracing Continuous Learning

Engaging in these internships and completing assigned tasks not only bolstered my confidence but also ignited a passion for continuous learning. Certifications in

  • Data science, Internet of Things (IoT), and Packet tracer From cisco website,
  • Azure cloud fundamentals from Microsoft learn
  • Javascript and responsive web design from freeCodeCamp,
  • Hacker rank certifications
  • Udemy certification in Microsoft Clarity and 5G Core, helped me a lot in building my LinkedIn profile.

Navigating Inconsistency

Despite academic achievements and newfound skills, the spectre of inconsistency haunted me. But I will never give up and rise whenever I encounter a downfall.

Looking Ahead: A Beacon of Inspiration

As I near the end of my fifth semester, the journey continues. Challenges persist, but so does the unwavering hope for success. I recognize that each fall is an opportunity to rise stronger. My commitment remains steadfast – to overcome fears, banish insecurities, and emerge as a guiding light for others on their learning journey.

In conclusion, my college story is a testament to the transformative power of resilience, self-reflection, and continuous learning. I hope that sharing these experiences inspires others to navigate their unique journeys with courage and determination.
