NCR Corporation Interview Experience for SDE (On-Campus) 2022

Round 1(Online Coding – Platform: HackerRank): Date: 7th Sept 2022

• 20 MCQs based on OS, DBMS, Data Structures, and Algorithms. For MCQs be thorough with the OS concepts like paging, segmentation, deadlocks…etc.
• Two Coding questions based on Hashmap and strings. The coding questions were one anagram detection and the other simple string manipulation question,

The total time allotted was 90 min, there was no sectional time limit, and 87  students were shortlisted after this round of 300.

Round 2(Technical Interview – On-Campus): Duration: 1hr+20min.There were two interviewers in the cabin. First, I gave my resume to them by wishing them good morning.

•  I gave a brief introduction about myself, then they asked me about my projects(which were based on Machine learning and MERN stack), 
• They asked a little about MongoDB and Expressjs and API methods(how they are used).
• Then they moved on to Java, and they asked me about the OOPS concepts, Exceptions in Java(wrote the code for the explanation), 
• Asked about Packages in Java, questions about String Pool.
• Asked me to write code for a basic array question and LinkedList question(satisfied with the solution I gave).
• Then they moved on to SQL, and they gave me some SQL queries to solve, I solved all the 3 queries, then he asked about SQL vs MongoDB
• He also asked some questions about the GIT.
• Then the interviewer asked if I had any questions.

Round 3 (Manager + Technical Round ): Duration: 50 min. There was only one interviewer(Manager) and he was pretty chill.

• First, he asked about me and made me comfortable, then he asked about C++ concepts like friend function(where and how it is used),
• Differences between C++ and Java, Why did you choose C++ over Java, then he gave me a basic recursion question and a Tree question.
• Then he asked about the struct and union in c.
• Then the interviewer asked if I had any questions(asked 2-3 questions about the company).

Round 4 (HR  Round): 

• The HR gave his brief introduction, then he asked me to introduce myself(non-technical stuff).
• Asked me if I had any MS plans.
• Then we had 3 min discussion on the role I was offered and the salary structure.

 Verdict- Selected.
