In August 2023, KPIT conducted placement sessions at our college, and I successfully navigated through the selection process. Here’s a breakdown of the interview rounds:

Round 1: Online Assessment

  • Part A: The initial segment comprised aptitude questions and two coding challenges, all of which were relatively straightforward. Only C and CPP were permitted for coding.
  • Part B: The behavioural round featured engaging games designed to assess memory and speed.

Round 2: Technical Interview

Conducted on Superset, this round kicked off with an introduction. The questions covered:

  • Explanation of Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS)
  • Implementation of Inheritance in code
  • Recursive code for checking if a string is a palindrome
  • Differences between JDK, JRE, and JVM
  • Explanation of Java’s platform independence
  • The interview lasted approximately 30-40 minutes, with questions posed within a reasonable difficulty range.

Round 3: HR Interview

Also held on Superset, the HR interview delved into standard HR queries. Beginning with a brief introduction, the questions included:

  • Why KPIT?
  • Reasons for choosing me
  • Transitioning to a different programming language timeline (given my primary language was Java)
  • Biggest achievement
  • Willingness for relocation
  • This round, too, spanned 30-40 minutes, maintaining a conversational and approachable tone.

Result: Selected

Securing a position at KPIT proved manageable with a fundamental understanding of programming and computer science concepts. For aspiring candidates, I wish you the best of luck!
