KPIT Technologies Interview Experience for Associate Engineer

KPIT Technologies came to our campus with an Associate Engineer role, for FTE Role. This was the first time KPIT came to our college on campus.

Round – 1 (Online Assessment)

Around 300 students were allowed to give an Online assessment it was conducted on the Superset platform. This round consisted of questions related to Quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, Domain related questions, Coding Questions, and puzzles.

Aptitude was easy to medium level and similar types of questions can be found on Indiabix and brainly, Domain related questions were related to core subjects for CS, and IT students the questions were related to OS, DBMS, OOPS, and CN, and for ECE branch they were related to Signals and systems, Digital Communications, Control Systems, and Power Electronics.

Coding questions were easy to medium only C++ and Java were allowed.

• Two strings are given to find the missing character in the second string.
• Longest Increasing Subsequence in array?

Puzzles were like interactive games where proper tutorials were given and if you have played online games it will be the peace of cake.

Level: Medium

Pro Tip: Try to be quick while attempting the question.

Round – 2 (Technical Interview)

Around 90 people were shortlisted after online assessment and our Technical Interviews were scheduled on the superset platform.

My Interviewer was Lead Associate Engineer

Duration: 1 hour

• Tell me something about yourself(standard question for all interviews prepare a short and not boring intro)
• What is OOPS? Can you explain in layman’s terms?
• What is Polymorphism? What is runtime polymorphism and compile time polymorphism give an example.
• What are constructors and destructors? What is their need?
• What are pointers and what is their use in OOPS?
•  Difference between C and C++?
• Write a code for swapping two numbers without using a third variable.
• Write a code for the Fibonacci series iterative and recursive.
• Write a code for finding prime numbers and what are Armstrong numbers?
• How much do you rate yourself in aptitude? One question on work and time classic one man can do work in x amount of time another man can do the same work in y amount how much time it will take for both of them to complete same work?

He was reading my resume and I had solved around 1000+ questions on platforms like code forces and leetcode so he asked me to tell him any recent questions I had solved.

He was done with the interview and then asked if I want to ask any questions

(keep at least two questions related to the company ready it shows your interest) I asked what are latest product they are working on and what is work culture (standard ques) was.

Pro Tip: Be calm and answer with confidence interviewer only asks basic questions he doesn’t expect a lot since you are fresher. Be thorough with everything on your resume.

Round – 3(HR interview)

In this round, around 60 people were shortlisted and the interview was scheduled on superset.

Duration: 30 minutes

Level: Easy

• Introduce yourself
• What are your strengths and weakness?
• What makes you unique from others? why should we hire you?
• Situation question: Your team has a member who is not detail oriented and disciplined there is another member who is not part of your team but is disciplined would you swap them?
• Situation question: You are assigned three projects all of which are high priority what are you going to do?
• How are you a team player?
• How do you manage work between team members?
•  Why do you want to join KPIT?

She was down with the interview and asked if I had any questions so I asked about the company’s clients and what are their recent projects.

After this, my interview got over, Overall round was easy standard hr questions were asked to prepare them beforehand so you have proper answers follow the STAR method for questions.

Verdict: They issued the list of all the selected candidates around 55 students were selected and my name was in the list.
