KNIT Sultanpur Admission Experience

Eligibility Criteria:

Firstly it was the main criteria that the candidate should be qualified 12th board exam with 75% marks and have subjects eg. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics but from COVID-19 the percentage of these criteria was removed. Students of any age are allowed to appear in the admission process for any participating institutes of AKTU.

Entrance Examination:

In my time AKTU was organizing a state entrance exam UPSEE for admission in govt. and private engineering college I qualified for JEE-Mains & UPSEE and went through the exam and counseling from UPSEE but The authorities now conducting counseling and admissions on the basis of only JEE Main ranks, UPSEE is not organized now. So candidate should have appeared for JEE-Main and achieved a good score/rank. Application forms for this exam are released at the beginning of Winter i.e. in October -November.

Application Process:

The application process for exams is online, You need to fill up an online form followed by uploading the required documents eg. Aadhar, Cast, Income & Domicile certificate, It is recommended if you wanna cast/category benefit then your cast certificate should be issued in the same financial year eg. after April 2023 for the students of 2023. After that appear for the exam and result declaration.

Counselling:

There will be a notice issued from AKTU regarding counseling and admission schedule then you need to register and upload all required documents as stated above. Then there will be online document verification done by the AKTU team. If you want category benefit and your certificate is not issued in the same financial year then your certificate will not be considered in this case, your category will be changed in general and your general rank will be considered for allotment whether you belong to OBC, SC, or ST. Actually, this happened to me too. So if the same issue happens then contact on helplines and write an email if not get a response then find the address of the main office (mostly in AKTU Lucknow) of the counseling portal and go there with the relevant documents.

Choice filling and Seat Allotment:

After Documents verification there will be choice filling of college and Branch according to your interest put Branch with colleges 1st,2nd,3rd…. choices. If you don’t know about this please watch on YouTube. I suggest go with non core branches eg. Computer Science, Information Technology , Electronics Branch if you wants good placement. Choose in Top govt College firstly IET Lucknow, KNIT Sultanpur, BIET Jhansi. Choose core branches eg. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical only If you want join Govt organisations , PSUs like ONGC, BHEL,ISRO etc. or pursue Post Graduation then you have to appear an exam called IIT GATE. After choice filling there will be seat allocation based upon your rank and choices.

Fee Payment & Physical Reporting :

Candidates who allotted seat in any college need to pay the seat confirmation fee of 20k within the specified time frame to confirm their seat. otherwise candidate will disqualified from the counselling process. If you got seat in 1st round and you want to upgrade it then after paying the confirmation fee your choices will be considered if you got seat in any of your top choices then your seat will upgraded else remain same as allotted previously if you want to get out from process then you can but per round 5k deducted and rest will be refunded.

Then there will be an Physical reporting day at that day you have to go in college with all documents and pay the remaining fee as fee structure (available on college site) then your admission will be finally completed. For remaining fee payment lot of students have doubts so I would suggest visit on website of college if they said for demand draft then go to your bank and deposit money to make a demand draft of that fee amount then you don’t need to carry money with you just take the demand draft and submit.

In my case I didn’t carried cash I thought if there will be online payment mode I’ll pay else use ATM to withdraw cash ,Never do this mistake. I went on many of ATMs but only got a Withdraw of 20k so I went in Bank of college and talked to manager and told my problem then she agreed and told me to submit 20k as cash and remaining send in this bank account of your college director all fee is getting deposited in this A/C then I transferred the fee amount and got the receipt , submitted with that my admission finally successfully done.

Note: In AKTU’s colleges there is a UP Scholarship scheme for all students in this your college fee(including Tuition fee, Hostel fee, User Charges) will be refunded through scholarship. In my batch students fee is approx. 68K and they get scholarship around 64K but this is for only those students whose annual family income is less than 2.5 lakhs.
