My college name is Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology Sultanpur (KNIT) which was established in the year 1976. KNIT is an autonomous Govt. Engineering Institute affiliated with Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY LUCKNOW (AKTU previously known as UPTU). Now the next step is in progress that’s in next couple of years, It will be having an NBA /NIRF accreditation and will be able to give the degree itself.

I got a seat in Mechanical Engineering branch at KNIT Sultanpur through the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) organised by AKTU , after getting a seat for final admission it’s mandatory to come to college for reporting. So, on Physical reporting day, I had to come to college in offline mode, so I came with my maternal uncle and reached at Sultanpur bus stop in the evening by 1900hrs. The funny thing that happened to us was auto drivers don’t know KNIT they call KNI, so no one agreed to come to KNIT and we came on foot, distance covered around 4-5km. Reached on campus at around 2000hrs. Then we met Professor HK Mishra sir and some other Guardians with students who reached earlier. We stayed at Kalam Hostel with those persons and a lot of discussions were made during the night with Mishra Sir and other MTech Ph.D. students. Next, they we went in CSA Hall by the end of the day finished all the steps, and returned.

After that, our online induction program was organized by the Art of Living team Mr. Doshant Verma & Dr. Rohit Agarwal. It was an amazing experience during this one-week program we do yoga meditation and other casual talks lot of motivations. Our online classes started we attends classes regularly. My batchmates organised some online programs on special occasions like Republic Day, Independence Day etc. I appeared for interviews of different -2 clubs and councils and joined Start-up Cell (IISC) there I met with some other branch students and seniors of team. we finished the whole first year in online mode also half of 3rd semester too.

Finally in November 2021 we got notice that college is going to open in offline mode. It was feeling like Jiska mujhe tha intzaar vo ghadi aa gayi. Then we came to college my Home is around 250km away from college so in evening around 1700hrs I reached in campus then went to dean office it was so crowded as Hostel allotment was going on rooms were 3-seater, so I was searching for 2 partners and met two students of CSE they were also searching for one. So, we finished the allotment process got room in New VS hostel and went in room it was too horrible when we saw the room condition no light too much dust , done cleaning of room and spent night there , next day we interchanged the room with room in Gargi hostel. Attended some events of clubs and councils started exploring campus spent first month with lot of new memories but In Jan 2022 a notice issued that everyone leave hostel and go back to your Homes as couple of students from a Hostel are covid positive.

In mid Feb 2022 news received college is going to reopen and semester exams of 3rd Sem are scheduled from first week of March. So, it was very difficult for us to handle exam pressure but our seniors always used to say in online meets that mostly engineering students study before one night of exam. We experienced that thing too , finished exams. I joined Koshish a NGO run by KNIT students to teach village children for free, there I met lot of final year seniors got so much knowledge guidance and motivation from them then Joined Career Development cell in as Training Placement Representative (TPR) . This cell is responsible for all placement related activities,I was not interested in joining but one of my colleague Kaushal Bro motivated me that condition of mechanical placements is not good you should join and increase it so I joined and worked hard with my team to increase the placement records of my branch Mechanical Engg. and I became successful in doing so more than 60% students placed. last year’s record was 5-10%. Start-up organised a 2 day event Tussle I was in management team also attended some other events of councils like PFAC, IEI, Literary etc. Then Farewell of 2022 batch started in our college each club council’s junior members give farewell to their seniors separately overall experience was so amazing can’t explain lot of fun we made, like get togethers meetings parties Night outs games, group singing etc.

Now I was in Third year in mid of 5th Sem I and my batchmates went for an Industrial Trip with our Head of department Prof. SP Kutar. Visited Hydropower Plant NHPC in Uttarakhand we also visited Nepal border area and a temple in Nepal. Industrial trip was also an awesome experience for us it was 3-day visit we learnt lot of thing like how electricity is generated how turbines rotates etc and met one of our college alumni they shared their experience of college life and gave lot of important info about Plant. Then came back in college and a new concept of 75% mandatory attendance introduced our department faculties were too strict in matters of classes. So spent all 3rd year in regular classes and in events, parties and meets with juniors giving them motivation and guidance which we got from our seniors and experienced in our college life. an alumni meet in Jan 2023 organized in college in which I got the chance to meet very old alumni even an alumnus from very first batch of KNIT i.e. 1980 batch, interaction was quite awesome. 3rd Year ended with farewell season of 2023 batch at our college , it was also incredible experience to attend those farewell parties . With that entered in a serious phase of our college life that is Final Year.
