Infosys Interview Experience – Software Engineer

Hello, everyone I want to share my recent interview experience with Infosys for the position of Software Engineer. The interview process was conducted online, and it was a comprehensive evaluation of technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Application and Shortlisting:

I came across a job opening for a Software Engineer at Infosys on their official careers portal. Excited about the opportunity to work with a leading IT company, I submitted my application along with my updated resume and academic details.

After a few weeks, I received an email from the Infosys HR team, informing me that I had been shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process.

Online Aptitude Test:

The first stage of the selection process was an online aptitude test. It included questions on logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and verbal ability. The test was time-bound, and I had to manage my time efficiently to answer all the questions.

Technical Interview:

After successfully clearing the aptitude test, I was invited for a virtual technical interview. The interview panel comprised two technical leads from Infosys. The interview was conducted via video conferencing.

Round 1: Technical Proficiency

In the first round, the interviewers assessed my technical knowledge and coding skills. They started by asking me to explain my experience with programming languages like Java and data structures such as arrays, linked lists, and trees. They also presented a coding problem related to string manipulation and asked me to write the code on an online code editor.

Round 2: Project-Based Discussion

The second round involved discussing my previous projects and experiences. I was asked to elaborate on a web application I had developed during my internship. The interviewers wanted to know about the technologies used, the architecture of the application, and the challenges faced during development. They also inquired about my role in the team and how I contributed to the success of the project.

Round 3: Behavioral Questions

In the final round, the interviewers asked a series of behavioral questions to assess my communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving approach. They were interested in understanding how I handled difficult situations, managed tight deadlines, and collaborated with team members.

HR Round:

After successfully clearing the technical interview, I was scheduled for an HR round with the Infosys HR representative. This round focused on discussing my career aspirations, salary expectations, and overall fit with the company’s culture.
