Stepping onto the campus of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) in 2021, was like entering a world brimming with possibilities. From the bustling on-campus placements to the vibrant cultural societies, my time at IGDTUW has been a transformative journey filled with memorable experiences.

The opportunity to participate in online assessments (OA) for various top MNC’s and startups was a defining aspect of my college experience. Almost all the students here get well placed. Witnessing the hardworking nature of my fellow students, I felt inspired to push myself and strive for excellence in every endeavor and thus I too grabbed an internship for 2024 summers.

While sports may not have been at the forefront, the presence of the Synergy sports society added a touch of athleticism to campus life. Additionally, the Soch society provided a platform for nurturing my creative passions, allowing me to explore art and drawing amidst the academic hustle. We have other societies like LeanIn which are bit techy ones. Seniors here are so helpful, just approaching them is the key.

The highlight of my college years was undoubtedly the vibrant fests that lit up the campus with energy and excitement. From electrifying performances by renowned artists like Javed Ali to showcasing my own talents, these fests were the epitome of celebration and camaraderie. Fests are always amazing as compared to other colleges.

Navigating through the academic challenges was made easier by the support systems in place. Regular classes and disciplined study habits became my pillars of strength, helping me sail through mid and end-semester pressures with confidence. Grading system is fine but yes you may feel a bit of academic pressure.

The campus itself was a haven of amenities catering to every need. Whether it was grabbing a quick snack from the canteen or getting your practical files printed at tuck shop, immersing myself in study sessions at the library, or enjoying leisure time at the volleyball net, IGDTUW provided the perfect blend of academic and recreational facilities. We have 2 hostels within the campus named Krishna and Kaveri. One thing to note here is that our campus share common ground with Ambedkar university, so don’t get shocked if you see boys in the campus.

As a day scholar, I found solace in the convenience of transportation options, including the proximity to Kashmere Gate metro station and affordable rickshaw rides. If you prefer walking, it will take you only 10 minutes to reach the campus from gate number 5 of metro station. There are also nearby places which allowed me to explore the cityscape beyond the campus boundaries, venturing out to nearby landmarks like the iconic Red Fort and Hanuman Mandir, became cherished memories of my college days.

In retrospect, my journey at IGDTUW has been nothing short of a tapestry woven with diverse experiences and invaluable lessons. It’s a chapter of my life that I will forever treasure for its academic rigor, cultural vibrancy, and the lifelong friendships forged along the way.

If you are confused whether to join IGDTUW or not, I will suggest you to definitely join it if you are more concerned about placements and if you are more into extra co-curriculars you can look for other options as well.

All the best !!
