Taking a year off to prepare for the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) entrance exams was a decision filled with both uncertainty and determination.

My goal was clear: to secure admission to one of the prestigious National Institutes of Technology (NITs). With this ambition in mind, I enrolled in a coaching class, determined to give my best shot.

Despite my rigorous preparation, the dream of NIT remained elusive. However, fate had a different plan for me. The entrance exam conducted by Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) presented itself as a new opportunity. The exam, exclusively for girls and without negative marking, felt like a beacon of hope.

When the results were announced, my name appeared 51st on the general category list. Ecstatic, I shared the news with my family, unaware of the challenges that awaited me during the counseling process. The delay in the proceedings and the sudden announcement of all seats being filled when they already reached rank 50, shattered my hopes momentarily.

As despair loomed large, a kind soul approached me with words of encouragement. Her reassurance and guidance gave me the courage to approach the admission in charge. To my relief, I was assured that the remaining seats from other categories would be converted to the general category, securing me the first spot in line.

After enduring weeks of uncertainty, the announcement of my name at the top of the list for the second round of counseling felt like a triumph. With the support of my family and the reassurance from the admission in-charge, I finally secured admission into IGDTUW.

The initial struggles were soon overshadowed by the warmth and support I received from the faculty at IGDTUW. Their dedication to nurturing our potential and fostering a positive learning environment was truly inspiring. One of the teachers who helped me during the admission process turned out to be my professor for Data and File Structures, making the experience even more rewarding.

As classes commenced, I found myself in the company of motivating and understanding faculty members who not only imparted knowledge but also instilled confidence in us. Also, the batchmates and seniors were equally helpful. Despite the challenges faced during the admission process, every effort was worth it in the end.

My journey to IGDTUW taught me the importance of perseverance, resilience, and unwavering belief in oneself. It is a reminder that sometimes, the most rewarding paths are the ones we least expect.
