IBM India Interview Experience for Associate System Engineer (On-Campus) 2023

IBM India came to our campus to recruit people for the role of Associate System Engineer. The entire process was virtual.

There were 4 rounds –

Round 1: Coding Test

There were 2 coding questions that had to be solved in 55 minutes. The questions were from Dynamic Programming.

I cleared this round.

Round 2: English Language Assessment

Students who cleared the Coding Test were shortlisted for the English language Assessment, which was conducted on the same day. It was a 13 mins test.

There were several questions based on vocabulary, Spotting Errors, spellings, synonyms, antonyms, and Fill in the blanks. The goal was to solve as many questions as you could in the given time limit, 2-3 minutes was allotted to each section.

I cleared this round.

Round 3: HR Interview

This was basically an HR screening round. The interviewer was very sweet & friendly. She asked me :

• Tell me about yourself.
• Your likes & dislikes?
• Your hobbies?
• Where are you from?
• What did you do for your minor project?
• Tell me about your experience in your college till now.
• What do you know about virtual & augmented reality?
• Tell me about something you’ve done apart from academics that makes you unique.

She kept asking me questions based on what I was answering.

I cleared this round.

Round 4: Technical + HR Interview

I was interviewed by a senior employee with 12+ years experience. He asked me :

• What were the topics asked in the coding test, did you solve all of them?
• How many rounds did you clear before this interview?
• Tell me about the subjects you loved in your school and college.
• What are all the technologies you’re familiar with?
• Some situation-based questions.

Then he asked me to share my project’s github link and the project deployment link. He went through my code and the deployment himself and asked a lot of questions based on that.

I cleared this round.

Final Verdict: Selected

Tips: Be confident, friendly & honest with the interviewer. Always maintain a smile on your face. Be very thorough the projects you’ve mentioned.
