GIET Gunupur Campus Experience

I have completed my graduation from GIET, Gunupur where I pursued B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering in Data Science. Why is Data Science you ask? Well, I was very fascinated by the term Data and Science altogether so why not. To be precise my college tries to achieve 100% placement and my branch was termed as Specialization Course so it seemed interesting enough. See unlike other colleges my college follows an 80% minimum attendance very strictly, so I can tell you about GIET in brief.

About The Campus:

First things first, the campus is located in a remote area of the town, of Gunupur. The campus is at the end of the town, so no noise or any sort of pollution or anything you can find. The whole campus is around 120 acres and hence each branch or course has its own infrastructure. There is a large Library at the center of the campus, beside the Gymnasium and Dispensary. For sports freaks, a basketball field is there behind the main field area and medium size Swimming pool is also there.

First-Year Experience:

My first-year experience was quite good and peaceful, as ragging is prohibited strictly and students do follow those rules. The course curriculum was slightly similar to the 11th and 12th classes, so no struggle there in securing marks. I got to know about various clubs, during orientation programs. I joined the Data Science Club and learned a lot that I couldn’t have learned otherwise. The teachers are very supportive and friendly here. Each student is assigned one Proctor who regularly talks with you and your family.

Second Year Experience

In the second year, the faculties try to motivate students to choose a domain and pursue it, which in my opinion is a good thing. Classes were held regularly. Labs were conducted for practical knowledge. All things went very smoothly for me.

Third Year Experience

From the third year onwards the teachers start to make us job ready. This particular year you will be ground roughly for interview preparation. All things will start to get serious and strict. But fest and celebrations will not be hampered. Fun is always there is we enjoy what we do, and I did enjoy my third year.

Final Year Experience

From the very beginning companies started to come so I was very busy the first 3 to 4 months. I was not happy with the packages so I waited for the next 6 months and got placed just a month ago my B. Tech completion. This year we made quite good memories with each other. Finally, we all parted ways.
