Ford Motor Company visited my college for an on-campus recruitment drive in October 2023, offering various positions. There were a total of two rounds, both conducted on our college campus-RMK Group Of Institutions, Chennai.

Firstly total applied students is over 1000 but our institution select only 250 students out of 1000 students for appearing company selection process.

Round 1 (Written Test):

This round consisted of questions divided into four sections: Quantitative, Verbal, Reasoning, and Coding. The aptitude section had questions of a medium difficulty level. The coding section included two questions, one being very easy, and the other relatively easy but with a bit of trickiness, such as a Dynamic Programming question. The first coding question was about finding the factorial of a number and Second Question was about collecting maximum gold coins with some constraints. Out of a total of 250 students from my institution in Chennai who appeared in this round, 75 were selected for the next round.

Round 2 (Technical + HR Interview):

This round lasted approximately 50 minutes, and the instructions were quite intriguing, stating that success in this round depends on luck. Some selection panels asked very simple questions, particularly to those who were not proficient in coding, and unfortunately, these candidates did not perform well, in my opinion. It was surprising that they didn’t ask any questions related to programming or core subjects, which was unexpected for a company like Ford.

Finally They selected 14 candidates out of the 75 who had all maintained a CGPA above 9, and we were in our 7th semester.

It seemed like our luck was not on our side that day, but we remained hopeful for better results in the future.

Conclusion:

If you have a friendly and accommodating interviewer, you are more likely to get selected easily, even if you possess only basic coding knowledge. Otherwise, you might find yourself pondering how others with similar qualifications managed to secure their positions.

Mind you “This isn’t the last, there is always better”, All the very best !
