The daylight saving time is observed from the second week of March to the first week of November.

Places in this timezone observe time by subtracting 5 hours from the coordinated Universal Time (UTC -05:00). During Daylight Saving Time (DST) the time in this zone is forwarded by 1 hour which makes it only 4 hours behind the coordinated Universal Time (UTC -04:00). In eastern time also daylight saving time is observed from the second week of March to the first week of November.
