Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT), which was founded in 1979, is a well-known organization devoted to offering top-notch instruction in the technology sector. It has been a leader in embracing contemporary technology and was the first institution in Karnataka to provide a full-fledged degree program in Computer Science and Engineering. As opportunities and growth have increased over time, BIT has launched a variety of courses. The institute currently houses 13 research and development centers connected to Visvesvaraya Technological University, offers 13 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate programs, and offers 13 undergraduate programs. The University Grants Commission (UGC), the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have all given their approval to BIT. The NBA has also accredited BIT for a number of its programs.

BIT stands out from the crowd of 208 VTU-affiliated colleges by being on 4th place among the Top Private Colleges in Karnataka. Thus to get admission here, you need to secure a good rank in the exams K-CET (for Karnataka Students) and COMED-K (for non-Karnataka Students). These two exams are the main entrance test for undergraduate engineering programs at College. Once students qualify the Exam, they must participate in a centralized counseling process led by the K-CET or COMED-K authorities for Karnataka and non-Karnataka Students respectively. In this counseling session, students can choose their desired courses and colleges based on their rank and eligibility.

Admission Process and Eligibility

There are three ways to get into BIT’s first-year BE programs: KCET, Comed-K, and Management Quota. Only through the Diploma KCET can Diploma students be admitted via lateral entry into the second year of BE.

The ratio of seats available in the three programs are CET (45%) , ComedK (30%), Management (25%), and SNQ (5%).

The term “Supernumerary Quota,” or “SNQ,” designates a certain category of seats reserved for applicants who satisfy particular requirements established by the governing authorities. Normally, SNQ seats are allotted in accordance with unique factors like legal requirements, reserved categories, or set quotas for particular demographics.
