Asansol Engineering College, a self-financing institute was established in the year 1998. It is situated in Asansol, West Bengal. It offers B.Tech, MCA, and M.Tech in various disciplines. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) [Formerly – West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT)] and recognized by UGC under section 2F of the UGC Act, 1956.

This institute has grown into a renowned center for academic excellence, innovation, and knowledge. Institute provides an extensive range of undergraduate programs, as well as immense opportunities in diverse engineering fields. It offers a wide variety of engineering courses, ensuring that students’ diverse interests and ambitions are met.

To get admission to College, students need to pass some highly Competitive exams. These exams are the main entrance test for undergraduate engineering programs at Colleges. One of them is the JEE Exam and the other is the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE)

 They must participate in both the centralized counseling process led by the Joint Seat Allocation. In this counseling session, students can choose their desired courses and colleges based on their rank and eligibility.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for admission to College, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Education: Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/InformationTechnology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship. (Any of the three)
  2. Minimum Percentage: Candidates must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
  3. Entrance Exam Score: Candidates should have a valid score in a designated entrance exam (such as the JEE Exam or the WBJEE exam).

The admission process at the College primarily depends on the score obtained in the JEE Main or the WBJEE exam and the counseling is conducted by the exam conducting authorities.
