I am Subham Ghosh, from Asansol, West Bengal schooled in APS Ferozpur and later in IIS Asansol the most of my school life. To be honest, coming to AIT wasn’t even a resort at my heart because I wanted to join a medical college. But fortunately or unfortunately I missed the cut-off by the smallest of margins and the pressure was so much at that time that my mind literally couldn’t afford a drop year. So yeah my JEE Mains was kind of good so I came to know about this college Army Institute of Technology. The more I researched about it, the more it grabbed my attention and then I decided to make it my home for the Undergrad period and here we are. The moment I entered college, there was this fresh air that revealed something different from others

During the induction session, I learned about the various governing bodies and clubs within the college. Over time, seniors became mentors, guiding me through the challenges of college life, whether academic or personal. Despite initially feeling isolated, I discovered my passion for dancing and football, activities I had longed to pursue.

Within the Information Technology department, I found excellent academic support from knowledgeable and caring faculty. Attendance posed a challenge as the years progressed, but I managed to clear all exams without any backlogs. I also explored other sports like basketball and table tennis and spent countless hours in the library, devouring books by authors like Durjoy Dutta. Wouldn’t be less to mention the staff of our cafeteria OAC (Open Area Canteen) that saved the day with their samosas whenever I and my buddies missed our breakfast. The Food Court became such a luxury at a time.

Grateful for the deep bonds formed with my batchmates, who became like siblings, I fondly recall the trekking and educational trips around Pune. Reflecting on my college experience, I express gratitude to AIT for its enriching culture, social environment, and friendly atmosphere. One could see my smile seldom go away over the years during my stay in the college. I think I’ll miss being here after a time because you hate certain things in the beginning and then end up making amends embracing all the lovely things in the end.

To incoming freshmen, I advise against confining oneself to the room, emphasizing the importance of embracing all the experiences college has to offer. Just move out, try new things, explore the world, and do what your heart says just like I did at my college. For me, AIT has been more than just an educational institution—it’s been a significant part of my life, shaping me socially and culturally. Thank You everyone for listening to me, and Thank You AIT for shaping me the way I am today. One and a half years to go, the batch of 26. Hope for the best guys!
